I got news for everybody the BIG 12 is EXTREMELY overrated. I think the weak teams in their conference will come out in the next few weeks, like they always do around this time. Big 12 teams, beside Texas, schedule weak non-conference schedules. For example A&M was 16-1, but who the hell did they play to earn their #10-11 ranking? For crying out loud they beat Arkansas on a neutral floor in overtime. Texas absolutely killed them last week, which was inevitable and one of the easiest games to bet on all year. Additionally, Kansas State is crap, they were dominated by a mediocre Florida team and murdered by Duke in Kansas City. Who the hell has Kansas played that's worth a crap? Memphis? Texas lost to UCONN at home, lost to Pitt on a neutral court, and beat UNC on a lucky last second jumper on the road (I was there and they were outplayed the entire game, plus received some horrible calls at the end of the game, and this is coming from a Duke fan). Kansas plays Texas tomorrow at home, barely beat Nebraska and USC at home. Kansas may lose tomorrow, watch that game closely. They are the most overrated team in the country. Syracuse held that title until last weekend when they finally played a good team (Pittsburgh). Until the Pitt game, Syracuse played all their games in 2 states, most of them in their home state of New York.
In regards to the ACC. For their standards they are definitely down this year and have been for the past five years. I credit the ACC's demise to Gary Williams not being able to recruit to save his life and both NC State and Georgia Tech falling off the face of the earth. From a geographical standpoint I think Williams has really struggled with the success of Pittsburgh, Georgetown and West Virginia and those schools have taken away a lot of recruits that would have gone to Maryland in the past. I would argue with anyone that the SEC is better than the ACC as a whole. Wake Forest is the worst team in either conference, I guarantee that statement. Wake won't be better anytime soon. NC State has a horrible coach that cannot coach defense to save his life, he will be gone within the next 2 years, although that school could be a big time program overnight due to their outstanding facilities and history. Auburn is bad offensively but their defense is outstanding and will keep them in games.
Big East
Big 10
Arguably the Big 12
SEC
ACC
Don't know squat about the rest of the conferences, but San Diego State is legit.
