We are going to beat UGA. But it is going to be a close game.

UGA's LB's are a very sore spot for them and many in their know would agree. They have been beaten by lesser team's OL's the last 2 weeks thanks to piss poor routes by even experienced LB's like Tony Taylor.

But, their speed overall is going to bring our O down quite a bit to the 20's just like UF's did.

RUN, FULMER. RUN!!! We need to run to win!!!

Ainge is going to have pressure from Johnson and Moses so we better be used to not having time to throw bombs though I know Cutcliffe doesnt ever really do that.

I am sorry, should I be saying how much we will suck or how much we will kill UGA?

What is the standard response these days? Changes so often on here I figure I might as well ask

IMO, to even predict a winner in this one is kind of an exrecise in wishful thinking - If I were being honest, I'd say it were too close to call, but as a Vol fan, I like our chances.

No no, I just remember you being partial to the dawgs as well. I wasn't commenting on you being a negative fan or anything..

I don't mind UGA....I hate UF and USC much more.

Is that acceptable or what did I say that makes you question who I am rooting for?

You are so correct. I've seen posts saying that we will win by 3 TD's. I think if we don't have a breakdown in the kicking game and allow them to return a kick or block a kick we will win by a FG. (I've given up that we will ever in my lifetime, other than the kicker or punter, do anything special in the kicking game ourselves).

Partial to UGA and thinks we won't destroy them?

Sounds about right.

For what it's worth, Tennessee might not even win, but I think anyone with any knowledge of the game knows that if Tennessee plays the kind of game that they played against Marshall and Memphis, and airs the ball out, attacking Georgia, it won't be close.

If they try to go back to the ole run it up the gut every play, then you're right, it will be a close game.

I'm predicting a big win based on the fact I think they let the leading WR in the nation LOOSE on the DAWGS!

U-T I agree with you. I think we have a very good chance of winning this game and would like to win by double digits. But I think UGA will be ready to play and it will be a fairly close game. But maybe we'll be surprised and it'll be a repeat of the Cal game . . .

So it's just a matter of letting him loose? Why didn't we let him loose against UF?

Good question.

We lost the Florida game because we started attempting to run the ball every play in the third quarter.

No doubt it could be a tough game. If Georgia plays well! If they play as they have for the first 5 games this year it will be a long night for UGA. Georgia has looked very bad this year so far and not worthy of the 9 & 10 rankings they have in the AP & Coaches polls. On the other hand Georgia seems to always bring there (A) game when playing Tennessee. I would like to think with the way Tennessee has played and the way Georgia has played that the pride will be sick of playing RockyTop by halftime, but I have been to quick to smack talk in the past and don't want to have to pull my foot out of my mouth on Sunday.

I don't see that their defense has looked that bad.

It's going to come down to 4 things in my mind.

1. Us being able to run the ball
2. Ainge having time to throw
3. Not letting UGA run all over us
4. No stupid mistakes

If the Vols accomplish those 4 things, UT wins big. If they only accomplish a couple of them, UT wins by a small margin. If they only accomplish one or less of those, UGA wins by a small margin.

Where is LIO?? I can't believe that the title of this thread hasn't been edited by her yet! :)

"Anyone who thinks we will ROLL OVER UGA are kidding themselves "

She would be all over the antecedent agreement there...."is kidding himself/herself....or is kidding oneself"

couldn't resist .....

Meach and Swain will get open. UGA's defense and secondary havent been strong. Yes, theyve shut out opponents but not any team of any caliber. Colorado played them to literally the last minute and so did Ole Miss. I think we win pretty convincingly(SP? My Sophmore vocabualry isnt real strong:) ) stat wise, but Im not too sure yet point wise. Im thinking about 24 - 13 type deal.

No their Defense has looked good. Not what it has been, but their offense has been dismal in games against teams with very poor past performances.

We played those games against Marshall and Memphis because...well, they were Marshall and Memphis.

We are now playing a team with a slightly better D or one comparable to UF.

Now, UGA's O will manage about 10 points but I think we get into the 21 range at best.

17-10

That's not the only reason. I refuse to call for a blowout victory at Georgia. Georgia has played us with teams that are less talented than the Vols and beaten us before. Georgia will be this team's first test in a really hostile environment. Also, Coker better be ready to cover up the ball, because those Bulldog linebackers will be trying to strip it. We should win, but that doesn't mean we'll win by a landslide. Georgia has some good pass rushers, and we tend to have trouble holding our blocks. That doesn't bode well for the passing game. Also, Coker hasn't really ran against a great defense yet. This will be his first real test. Having Foster back should help out, though.

I think the Vols will have an easier time running the ball than some might think. I'm not saying that they're going to rush for 200 yards or anything, but I think they'll be able to do it enough to cause an effective playaction pass.
