Those that think we will ROLL OVER UGA are kidding themselves

We played those games against Marshall and Memphis because...well, they were Marshall and Memphis.

We are now playing a team with a slightly better D or one comparable to UF.

Now, UGA's O will manage about 10 points but I think we get into the 21 range at best.

17-10

Do you really think UGA's d-line can hold a candle to Florida's? I see a ton of UGA coverge, and while I think their defense is pretty good, I'm not sure it's quite on the same level as Florida.

Q Moses is a better pass rusher than anyone wearing Orange and Blue.

i think that UGA has a good defense. their O however is not that good. i think our D will need to score some for us to help us win and after seeing the game against ole miss i think they will.

I think we should win, but...

I thought that way in 2000, until Qunicy Carter decided to stop doing some coke for the 2nd half.

I thought that way in 2001, until Fulmer decided to shorten the field and play prevent.

I thought that way in 2002 until I saw Clausen come onto the field...without pads.

I thought that way in 2003, until we fumbled at the 1 and gave up in the second half.

Georgia has at least as much talent as Lsu and Florida. Their defense has completely kept them in games. And their backs can be gamebreakers. That said, their problems on offensive make me think we can win. But I absolutely think uga can beat us...theyll have 90,000 screaming fans, a strong defense, and most importantly, confidence that they can beat us. 5 out of 6 isnt a fluke, its domination.

I think our offense will put up enough points to win, but theyll be able to run some on us. 13-7 vols.

Forget all the analysis . . . UGA is a talented SEC team and we are going to their stadium. I don't care if they line up with a manager playing QB, it's going to be a tough game.

I mostly agree with all the "anything can happen" sentiments from most of us, but if UGA has as much talent as LSU, they're a long way from showing it.

Where is LIO?? I can't believe that the title of this thread hasn't been edited by her yet! :)

"Anyone who thinks we will ROLL OVER UGA are kidding themselves "

She would be all over the antecedent agreement there...."is kidding himself/herself....or is kidding oneself"

couldn't resist .....

I have been to church. Where ELSE would I be on a Sunday night?

I am grumpy, my g/f yelled at me all day

Better have her take a pregnancy test. :eek:lol:

On subject, this is a tough one to call. We, of course, looked golden on Saturday. UGA has looked, at best, very beatable as of late. However, we'll be facing a much better opponent than AF, Marshall, and Memphis, and UGA will be "up" for this game (as they have apparently NOT been for the last two).

If we play as well as we are capable and they struggle at the QB position. . . .it could be ugly. I'm with you, though. This will be a bruiser.

A couple of thoughts on the UGA scene...

1. Georgia is not as good as Florida. I would give a slight edge to FL on defense based on their two LBs and a little better DL across the line. Offensively FL is much more balanced than GA. Additionally, FL seems much better at WR than GA, whose WRs seem to be less athletic and drop a lot of balls. That makes me think we have a better than average shot. QB is not even close.

2. Georgia should be largely one dimensional, although Richt can be good against Chavis mixing in the west coast style passing game to the backs and TE. He's hurt us with that before. I like Chavis against a young QB.

3. There are plays to be made against the GA secondary, and Ainge is playing pretty well right now. I think we are better than we were 1 month ago.

Against us:
1. GA has owned us mentally, and has the intangibles there. They are a team that knows how to win and expects to beat us. We are the furthest thing from a championship mindset.

2. It's at GA at night. Nuff said.

3. PUCKER SYNDROME. No facet of our recent coaching tradition has been more of a detriment than the psychology that our coaches tend to pass on to the team -- don't lose and don;t make mistakes. They get tight in big games and don't give off the heir of confidence. They coach tight and we play tight. This mentality creates those "odd" mistakes on the big stage (see Spurrier at Florida).

4. They are probably the tougher team physically right now. It's tought to overcome being whipped up front.

5. Their running game could be the difference if we don't buck up in the DL.

Prediction:
TN 24
GA 20

I can't remember the last time GA looked this week heading into the UT game. They were lucky to escape 0-3 Colorado with a win last week and this week barely escape Ole Miss 14-9.

UT dominated Memphis and handled Marshall easily. Ainge has never looked better. I think UT wins something like 28 to 24.

I can't remember the last time GA looked this weak heading into the UT game.

Probably 2001 when they lost to South Carolina and were playing a freshman QB . . . Anybody remember how that one turned out?

This one's going to be as pretty as a Barbed Wire Match between Abdullah the Butcher and Terry Funk.

However, I seem to remember a freshman going between the hedges in 2004. I think his last was AINGE. Remember how that one turned out?
