It appears UT will be very good again next year. We have a solid group coming back and with the improvements of Milton I expect a similar year like this year. Here is the list I could come up with returning. I know I have a-lot of juniors on this list. I don’t expect any of them to go Pro. What are the thoughts on Thomas or Baron possibly going pro?

Returning Players:
OLine- Cooper Mayes, Gerald Mincey, Javontez Spraggins, Jackson Lampley, Nicholas Addison, Dayne Davis,

DLine- Omari Thomas, Tyler Baron, Bryson Eason, Joshua Josephs, James Pierce Jr., DJ Terry

Line Backers- Juwan Mitchell, Kwauze Garland, Kaleb Perry, and Elijah Herring

DB’s- Dee Williams, Kamal Hadden, Christian Charles, Deneiko Slaughter, Brandon Turnage, Andre Turrantine, Tameron McDonald, Warren Burrell

RB- Small, Wright, Sampson, Len'Neth Whitehead

WR- Ramel Keyton, Bru McCoy, Squirrel White, Jimmy Calloway, Jimmy Holiday, Walker Merrill.

QB- Milton, Jackson

Adding to your list: Aaron Beasley seems like he'll be back, Ollie Lane should be back (started at guard last year when Cooper was hurt), I would assume Bru McCoy will be back, Kurrot Garland on the defensive line looks like he'll be back and DJ Terry.

I don’t think we lose to Bama next year either… replacing B. Young not gonna be easy… losing J. Gibbs, W. Anderson & others too…

Along w/ Bru that isn’t on there, I look for Nimrod & Webb to step up in the WR room too next year… also left Williams-Thomas off your rb list…

Losses to Bama and Georgia and maybe Florida the schedule next year is more difficult. 8-4 or 9-3 but Heup proved me wrong this year so 10-2 wouldn’t surprise me. We will win the East in 2024 or 2025 i do believe. Eventually we will have to dethrone Kirby and Georgia.

I think we beat UGA at home next year and could lose to Bama on the road. We could be looking at similar atmosphere for UGA game like we had for Bama game this year.

IMO, the biggest loss on that list would be Thomas. I think he goes pro. He's the biggest difference-maker on our D. McCoy going pro would really hurt our receiving corp. As far as how good the '23 team be vs. '22...probably depends on (1) How well Milton plays, and (2) How well our receiving corp replaces Hyatt and maybe McCoy, and (3) How well our LB corp plays. Getting the same production from the guys replacing Beasley and Banks won't be easy.

I mainly went off the 2-3 deep. We have more than this returning. But these are the players that have played significant snaps it started at some point over the last 2 years. Add the incoming class and we could be a problem for everyone next year. I expect us to be too 15 ranking Pre season.

be careful about assessing Alabama and Georgia losses. They are stacked with 4 and 5 star recruits. Lot of talk this past off season about how Tennessee would handle Georgia due to them losing 10 of 11 starters on defense. We see how that turned out. You just can't look at those two teams player losses and assume they are beatable. They might be beatable, but they will have studs replacing losses.

Ollie Lane is a RS Senior. He is gone unless he has a COVID year.

Depending on whether they decide to play VA Tech next week, we could be UVAs first game back after the shooting.
