I know everything is based on money and sponsorship but I miss the old USF&G Sugar Bowl, the Georgia Peach Bowl, the Tangerine Bowl, etc.. What about you guys? Does the Chick-Fil-A Peach Bowl and all of these other sponsored bowls matter to ya'll?

I'm ok with (most) of the shorter names (though some are still dumb)

Not a fan of names like San Diego County Credit Union Poinsettia Bowl

I liked that the Peach Bowl reverted it's original name with the sponsored by Chick-fil-A tag line.

Sponsors are required to make the bowls happen, tho.

A dietary fiber supplement purposed to provide regularity should sponsor the Bowel Bowl, which can be the new name for the Bowl played in Shreveport, LA, Birmingham, AL, Frisco, TX, or Detroit, MI.

The Famous Idaho Potato Bowl is a good one. I bet those two schools get excited about playing an outdoor game in Boise in late December.

Maybe I'm just an old folgy but that's how it was in the old days. Everything is to commercialized now.

The Poulan/Weedeater Bowl was a classic name for a lower tier bowl.

I miss the Astro Blue Bonnet Bowl. That was actually in the 6-10 tier before the Fiesta Bowl decided to be a New Years Day game.

Why do you think that? What does it hurt to let these guys play one more game? Nobody is forced to attend, watch on TV or even play in the game.

It's sorta like when the T$$AA increased playoff teams in '86. 6-5 record is a winning record but a 2-8 team making the playoffs?

4-7 Miss St going to a bowl?
