Thoughts on Florida Loss

i thought the calls were still a little questionable. it seemed like any florida could go in for a put back regardless of if there was a ut player between them and the rim or not.

21 fouls against us to only 10 called against FL. That being said FL played and coached better and obviously deserved to win that game

It wasn't bad officiating. It was our lack of aggressiveness and settling for jumpshots the whole game. UF was in attack mode from the outset. That explains the foul differential.

Yeah that is true, it seems like that's been happening a lot this year, the free throw and foul differential have been a problem for this team all year long it feels like. Do you think that is due more to our lack of size or lack of aggresiveness, do we just not have anyone who can take it strong to the hole?

We just settle for way too many jumpshots. UF attacked on probably 90% of their possessions. We attacked about 30% of ours. That's the difference in foul disparity, imo.

Over the course of the year, we simply play too tentative on the road. In the road games we won, we have attacked. I haven't looked up the stats, but I would be willing to bet that there was not a huge disparity in foul shots against USCjr and Bama.

Fact is, we have a very poor offense against zone defenses and rely on the outside shot. Actually we shot from outside better than normal last night and still got hammered. Goes back to little to no effort on the defensive end.

Stevie was not even in the top 10 reasons why the game turned out the way it did last night.

I am not saying Steven was the complete reason we lost the game. My point was that if you have Steven Pearl playing 33 minutes for a ranked team against a conference rival on the road then your going to have problems! And to you Cartervol I'm not picking on anyone...just stating the obvious. The team that scores the most points wins the game and I think we all know that Steven can't put the ball in the hole. I like the kid but he shouldn't get more than 10 minutes on the floor....just being realistic about things...please let me know if you disagree and explain why.

There is no alternative??? I'm not saying don't play him at all I'm just saying give more minutes to Hall, Woolridge, Tatum, hell anyone!

I love Pearl but i thought that he might have made a mistake by slowing the tempo down so much in the second half. We had zero turnovers in the first half, and then when we slowed the tempo we ended up with double digit turnovers.
