Thoughts on Kentucky

As a courtesy because we were defending NC's. Nobody believed that ****.

That's BS and you know it, winning the NC doesn't guarantee you a preseason top 5 ranking.

I tried telling you and the other UK fans on here UK would struggle and may not even be ranked and I was laughed at...

I agreed with you and forecasted 9 losses. Not too far off. I did however think the would lose those 9 before the stretch conference run and at least be in shape for a 6 or 7 seed. All four wheels came off.

Go back to my posts at that time and you will see that it is not.

Quite the manifesto for someone who doesn't care. The article is a kentucky site, but quotes polls/articles from prominent AP sources.

My point is simple and needs no interpretation. Carolina sucked last season also and got drummed by their biggest rival, and Ol Roy has been taking a beating lately on this board. It's 16 hours after the title game and already UK is at the top of the food chain and he is pissed about it.

I understand his panties are wadded up, but the "lol" is irony to me.
Why would my panties be a wad? Kentucky won't be the only good team next year. I'm glad you feel entitled to poke your chest our because of a preseason poll. I said lol because you guys have been talking about next years team for awhile now. Everyone is aware

They just base rankings on the recruiting classes they have. Doesn't mean anything. Just look at UCLA, they got the #1 recruiting class this year and they didn't win a national title. I don't know why UK fans think when they get a #1 recruiting class, they're an automatic contender for a national title? Yea, they got some high caliber recruits coming in this year but they haven't proven anything yet. Who knows, they may turn out to be great players or turn out to be busts. Take this years Kentucky players for instance. Depending on a bunch of freshman to win you a national title every year is just plain silly IMO.

Preseason rankings aren't just based off recruiting rankings, but do factor it in heavily. There are also differences in recruiting classes. UK had the #1 class last year and most of us knew that a sweet sixteen was the max this team could go, and hell they didn't even do that.

However, those that can judge talent can tell when a team is special and when they aren't. They appear to have great chemistry together, much like the 12 squad. That was NEVER the case with this years team.

They may not win it all, but this team is certifiably a contender for the title next year.

Fair statement.

Did you just say the 7 incoming freshman, and 5 returning scholarship players that haven't played a game together "appear to have great chemistry"?

I'm quite sure that 50% of your 98,403 posts are simply you quoting back to someone what they said in question form. Yes, that is exactly what I said. Chemistry doesn't just pertain to on the court.

The other 50% focuses on what he claims that was said without substantiating his claim.

Did you watch some YouTube video of them cracking jokes to come to this conclusion? Thats crazy man, to say that they have great chemistry when they haven't practiced one time yet.

I know more about my team, and about its incoming class and whats going on than you do, just as I would suspect the same for you and NC. But, maybe not. Some understand it, some don't, and it really doesn't matter to me if anyone in this thread can comprehend.

I follow my team as close as anyone follows their team, but I honestly have no idea at this point what kind of chemistry Robert Hubbs and Jordan McRae will have, or Trae Golden and Darius Thompson will have, or even Derek Reese and AJ Davis will have.

So just curious...what have you seen that tells you Alex Poythress and let's say Julius Randle have great chemistry together already?

Since when do Kentucky fans let crazy get in the way? Kentucky Basketball fans=Alabama Football fans. Hey, our 2016 class sure has great chemistry together...

"I told you they were overrated! No one was listening to me but I said they were absolutely not going to make it! No chance; I said they needed experience! I was right!"

I think every UK fan knew #3 was way to high. I thought 15-20, and we were on the rise until Noel got hurt. I think we would have finished 22-25 if he hadn't got hurt.

You didn't think UK was a top 25 team last year preseason?

Hard to say what we really should have been since Noel got hurt.

Noel just announced for the draft, no surprise. Best of luck to the Flat Top.

What the hell does it matter, you should know how good they'll be next year what do you get by questioning their chemistry in April?

There's only 1 ball to play with. We'll see how those young Kentucky recruits "work" together. If they can that is....

Last year was the first team that really didn't gel together. I think it had a lot to do with point guard play. Wall, Knight, and Teague knew how to keep everyone involved when they were playing their best, especially Wall, and we need the guards next year to do the same. Last year everyone played for themselves, Goodwin being the worst of them. We were lucky to have a guy like Noel save us defensively.
