Lemming is either a total idiot or hates tennessee. He acted like he did not know that ahmad dixon was going to tennessee. They also told ahmad he could not commit on camera.

Markeith ambles had 1 drop but he had two catches negated by penalties and was the best WR in the game.

Floyd and Powell will be special, I am glad we are building a stud OL.
Finally watching the kids hit the ground when the fireworks went off was awesome! Hilarious!

i thought dixon played very well against prater
ambles looked like a baller, he should have had more catches (what was with refs calling so many illegal formation penalties?!)
palardy unfortunately did not have the best day but the blocked kicks weren't his fault (i hope to never have to say that again)

i hate to see so many people going to florida but tennessee had a great day too.
GBO!

It must've been hard to find a bunch of hats and free up 1 minute during such an important game. I missed the 2nd half but did they at least talk to Dixon about his UT commitment? I'm guessing no.

It was all Florida, USC, Texas, some Bama as the teams mentioned most. The announcers fumbled the Dixon announcement first saying Baylor, then uncommitted, then an after thought "I am told he committed to Tennessee". Pretty much a nonchalant tone. No mention the Vols had five players in the game. The announcers sounded disappointed Willis committed to the Vols.

The announcers didn't even know or care that he was committed to Tennessee. They thought he was still with baylor. They came back later and said he committed to UT..

No they did not.

Also Scout and ESPN neither have him as a Vol commit so I would really like a second source conformation. Wouldn't u.

Very boring game. Awful QB play for the East squad, but Ambles still had a few catches, and by far the best catch of the game. One of the best catches I saw all year in football period. The kid is obviously a player and is going to pay huge dividends for us. He was open very, very often.

Dixon was impressive for most of the game on Prater.

Palardy got his kicks blocked, which is funny more than anything given our history. He also kicked two really nice onside kicks which were both recovered by the kicking team.

Didn't hear Jacques or Willis' name called much, but the West didn't move the ball most of the game, so I guess they did their job.

Overall, we had 5 commits playing but you'd never know it watching the game. We got no pub whatsoever.

I wasn't terribly impressed with Willis' performance in the Byrnes/STA game, but I thought he looked a lot better today. Glad to have him back on board!

Ahmad was hoping to announce tomorrow at the U.S. Army All-American game. I had spoken with him yesterday, where he told me of his intentions to commit during the game. So we did the interview with the understanding that I'd post the story of his Tennessee commitment as soon as he announced on television. Unfortunately he did not tell the people over the game in time and he didn't make the announcement list. I spoke with him again tonight and asked him what he wanted me to do. He told me to go ahead and run our story.

will you now get over it.

ESPN
ESPNU 150 defensive back Ahmad Dixon drops Baylor for Vols

A high four-star prospect, safety Ahmad Dixon has pledged to Tennessee after decommitting from the Bears. The defensive back also considered Alabama and Auburn.

ESPN's Bill Conley said of the news, "The Volunteers pick up a huge commitment in Ahmed Dixon; one of the top defensive backs in the 2010 class. He is the first commitment from the state of Texas to opt for the Volunteers."

"Dixon is what coaches look for in a safety. He is a quick reactor versus the run and pass along with being a physical football player. He closes quickly on run support and has the catch-up speed necessary to excel in the secondary. Dixon is a guy that can play early at the collegiate level due to his football instincts and fundamentals and can be an immediate contributor on special teams."

Dixon has now made his third commitment for the Class of 2010. The 6-foot-1, 195-pound standout had pledged to Texas before switching to Baylor.

He also had early offers from LSU, Oklahoma State, Texas A&M, Texas Tech, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Florida and TCU.

I was not impressed with Jacques. I love his attitude but he is just to small to play DE. Those OT's were manhandling him. Unless he puts on 15-20 Lbs which he certainly can do, expect him to play OLB

Yeah the kid seems to have a great attitude. He'll work his way onto the field eventually I think at either of those positions.
