thoughts on the game

Yeah Jacques is too good to not be on the field. He's a beast, and even though he's small at DE right now, if he puts on some weight I think he'll be a force with his quickness. If not, we have a solid OLB on our hands. Can't really go wrong with him.

DE is a position we have a lot of depth at next year, a redshirt year wouldn't be bad for him to gain weight and play DE or learn how to play in space at OLB

Go Vols baby!

Also Ambles is the type of receiver we haven't had around here in a while. If he doesn't start as a freshman I'd be surprised.

Ambles will be like an AJ Green, Julio Jones type.

As much as Lemmings and the announcer clowns were trying to stroke Prater, it was clear to me that the best WR out there was Ambles.

What has hurt Ambles was his incident with the coach's wife. But talent is talent and the boy shined today.

Ambles doesn't have any similarities to AJ Green or Julio imo. Julio is a big physical receiver and AJ is extremely long. Ambles can go up and get some balls like Green, but physically there is a big difference. I'd say Ambles is more like a Reggie Wayne. Great route runner, great hands, always open.

My comparison is not on physical skills or strengths. My comparison is based on being the "It" WR, THE playmaker at the position that we have not seen since Meachem. We are missing that marquee WR and it will be Ambles. I'm talking immediate impact player as a freshman.

Ambles reminds me alot of C Pickens. He can catch anything and is dangerous any route he runs.

Um, ok. I agree he'll make an impact. Hes a player, no doubt. I don't see any similarities between him and those two WRs though. He's not that type of player. He isn't physically imposing.

Kenbrell Thompkins(sp?) can be our #1 next year too. Looks like a good problem to have in the future.

Yeah it'll be nice to have him, Ambles and maybe Milton as guys who can make plays on the ball and bring in tough catches.

Ambles is the one recruit I wish we had gotten. This was not the year of the RB or QB, but WR and he might be the best offensive playermaker in this class.

The other nice thing about Ambles and Thompkins is they can make any QB look good. So even a freshman can come in and produce. Look how well Gilbert did in the big game because he had Shipley to throw to.

Either way, our WR class looks great. We have a lot of size and speed coming in, which will be great for when Stephens is overthrowing everyone next year. ;)

Meachem made Crompton look like a demigod against LSU.

Maybe one of the best in the country, if not the best.

I suspect we may have a redshirt or two this year b/c we still have jones, moore, teague (who i dont think will be a db) rogers, thompkins, ambles, milton and maybe meline. thats a whole lot of recievers to keep happy

Meline seems destined for the defensive backfield, and has even said as much. Teague might be headed there as well.

We are assuming that we get Rogers.

Meline maybe moved to DB.

But yes you throw in the two Rogers boys and we have three Rogers!

It will be tough to juggle them, but hey let the best ones play, baby!
