Definitely need to keep Copeland and Loften. Need a LB and a CB. We need OL in a bad way. Chaz Green would be nice. I think Delvin Jones will be a sign and place because he will not qualify.

There have been reports that, OLB Raiques Crump, has committed, but those reports maybe just a touch premature. Welcome our newest Volunteer commits.

Reported by Jeff Sentell.

Minor coach Randy Cook has been telling Alabama over the past year it was making a mistake not offering his defensive end, Raiques Crump, a scholarship. "I think Raiques is the best defensive player in this area," Cook said. "I really do."

The Crimson Tide has not been convinced, but a longtime nemesis has. Tennessee assistant coach Lance Thompson offered Crump a scholarship on Sunday.

"They really liked the way I played relentlessly," Crump said. "They thought I had good size and that I was athletic."

The former Eagle Scout was a 2009 All-Metro first team selection this season.

He had 106 tackles, 28 for losses and eight sacks for a team that advanced to the second round of the Class 6A playoffs. He had 77 solo tackles last season.

The 6-foot-2, 215-pounder carries a 3.2 grade-point average and previously had offers from Alabama A&M, Arkansas State and Tuskegee before the Vols came along.

"I really didn't have a favorite before," Crump said.

"But it's not too tough of a decision with Tennessee in the mix now."

Crump believes Thompson will visit Minor today.

He plans to take his official visit to Knoxville this weekend.

"I just want to see if I have a good time and if I feel comfortable up there," Crump said.

I know it's not the biggest thing; however, one thing I really like about this kid is that he's an Eagle Scout. That's says a lot about his character, committment, and dedication. He would be a great addition.

I've never heard of this guy before now. I looked him up and he has exactly zero stars, and zero offers from anybody else. We have like 5 spots left to offer, with Rogers, Bennett, and Clark all being real possibilities, and a desperate need for o-linemen. WTH.

Another reason to not get caught up in stars and ratings. Seems that Alabama flipped a 3-star DT who was committed to Memphis. If 3-star guys can get a scholly from Saban, why do some of ya'll get so hung up on 3-star/2-star guys coming to UT?

I'm more hung up on the fact that the guy has no offers from anybody, he's coming in to play a position where we are already in good shape. We're limited on the number of schollies we have left, and we have much more pressing needs, like o-line. We have 5 spots left, 4 if we take this guy, and we need at least 2 more o-linemen IMO.
