I have to say Senator Obama carried himself quite well tonight. He was very open, informative, and took the high road after Senator Clinton threw a weak left hook. I'm not sure the Xerox line brought the effect she was looking for (drew plenty of boos). For the people that were clamoring for more substance, I think it's safe to say both canidates rolled up their sleeves a bit. Health care, foreign policy, border control and immigration were all thoroughly addressed. Senator Clinton responded very passionatley when she was asked about her health care revisions. She believes universal health care can only be accomplished with a mandate.
Experience and leadership seemed to be Senator Clinton's theme when she was aksed about her readiness as President of the United States. Senator Obama took a different approach, one that seemed far more effective judging by the audience's reaction. Sound judgement and unity really hit home as a thunderous applause ensued. This was a moment where Senator Clinton had chance to show some grit. Flashing her experience card has been completely inefficacious on the campaign trail (something her advisors should have reiterated vigorously).
Even though Senator Clinton delivered a strong closing statement, I'd have to give Senator Obama the upper hand tonight (contrary to the previous debates). I don't think her ending gave her the seperation she so desperately needed.
