Great! 6 posts and a mention of Vandy. Good grief, people, give it a rest.
Yes, George Cafego hated Vandy....nearly 100 years ago. I'm willing to bet that George Cafego's name has been brought up more since Franklin arrived in Nashville than all the previous years combined on this board.
My post had nothing to do with Vandy, or Franklin. Actually I almost never think of Franklin. I brought up Cafego because he built that Long and Storied history in the kicking game that so many Vol fans are so proud of...
Just because it was so long ago, doesn't mean Cafego wasn't one of the original Bricks...imho

George Cafego was the one thing we could count on for years in the kicking game ... the one area we always excelled. His hatred for Vandy came from his coach I guess you heard of him "Gen Neyland" who was brought to UT for the purpose of beating Vandy. :dunno:
When Tennessee starts whipping Vandy on the field the way we should, perhaps you will not have to read a post with their name in it, until then...... get used to it :banghead2:
Were Dickey, Battle, Majors, Fulmer, Kiffin, Dooley, & Jones hired for the purpose of beating Vandy? I seriously doubt it.
Again, the only reason Cafego's hatred of Vandy is brought up in 2013 is simply because Franklin has made Vandy relevant. No one gave 2 rips about Vandy before Franklin arrived. I would bet there are more Vandy/ Franklin threads started in any given week on here than the entirety of Bobby Johnson's reign.
