Tim Jordan had his black stripe removed

I've been high on Tim Jordan since I watched his high school tape. The praise early in camp and the removal of his stripe this early just confirm what I initially thought.

He's really good.

Good grief. Do you even know Butch's criteria for removing one? Hell no. No one does. So you are commenting about something happening, not even knowing why the thing happened.

Your posts are so ignorant.

Are you kidding me right now? The black stripe deal means virtually nothing. And I'll stand firmly behind the thought that Chandler is the guy, the special freshman backing up Kelly, not Jordan. So, I'm right here, nothing's changed.

Also, why the softening of your opinion? You recently said Jordan would easily win the 2nd string running back job....and now you're "open to the possibility"? Lol.

He's not kidding. He's being 100% honest with you. Shouldn't you know how he operates by now KB? He's not normal.

Butch doesn't make that determination. The newbie's position group peers determine when someone loses their stripe, so it really has nothing to do with what the coaches think about determining the pecking order.

Even more of a reason why D4H comments are so absurd.

Chandler gained some weight and now looks a lil thicker. I've been high on Chandler since I saw his high school tape as well but was disappointed by how tiny he looked in the US Army game. He looks bigger now. Hopefully that means he can withstand the pounding in the SEC.

And FYI both guys will get a similar workload. I just haven't been as dismissive of Jordan as you have. You seem to buying into the star hype over actual skill displayed on tape.

Looking solely at tape rather than star ratings, I see Tim Jordan as Ty Chandler's equal at the very least.

I'm not trying to be dismissive of Jordan at all, just that confident in Chandler. I'd love to see a mix of 3 different guys, a 3 headed monster, the more the better. It's great that Jordan is getting good reviews and it looks like he's gonna be a good get if you believe the reports, which I have no reason not to.

That said, I think Chandler is the real deal, is a special kid and a special running back and he'll be the one who rises to the top here, useless black stripe removed or no useless black stripe removed. Jmo.

I wonder where KBVol is? He was running a victory lap the last few days trying to get on people who said Tim Jordan could be better than Ty Chandler. We probably won't hear a peep from him right now that Jordan lost his stripe before Chandler.

For the record, I like both guys. I think both will be NFL caliber RBs. I'm simply open to the possibility Jordan might be the #1 guy while Chandler is the #2 during their time here at Tennessee.

I swear I would slap you right now but I do not want to get thrown in jail for assaulting a female. You wrote the book on how to be a drama queen. STFU!

I'm another big fan of Jordan and habe been since he first showed up in the recruiting forum. The difference for me is this isn't a Jordan vs Chandler thing. I'm really happy that we have both of these guys and think both could see significant snaps this year. To me this is more of a credit to the evaluation of talent by our coaching staff. I do think Chandler will be who we see first because he has more big play ability on an offense trying to identify playmakers. The fact that this is even an argument is funny to me. The future looks bright for the vol backfield. It just has to be proven in an actual game.

Well, I've been saying Don't Sleep on Jordan since forever.
If he's as good or better than Ty, we gon WTFA.

The black stripe is a big deal because your position group makes the call. You earned the right to run with the big dogs.
I agree it has nothing to do with playing time. However if Chandler is closer to playing I think you can expect his to come off soon.

Only one guy has tried to make this into a Chandler vs Jordan thing. The rest of us are just happy that a 2-star is pushing a highly ranked 4-star for playing time as a true freshmen.

It can only be good for Tennessee is Chandler is living up to his recruiting hype AND YET Jordan might still be the better back.

That's a huge win for our evaluation department.

Chandler is in another league than Jordan.
Chandler is more talented than Kelly and Kelly much more talented than Jordan.

Yet Jordan is an SEC caliber back.

Chandler has a lower body that is very deceptive in it's movement.

He has crazy feet and losses no speed when changing direction.

He's faster and stronger than Jordan with better agility....

Everything ive heard about both backs has been awesome to hear, but i think, at least if i were a coach, if the lower ranked guy and the borderline 5 star guy are performing equally or even almost equally, i would take the lower ranked guys stripe first. Motivates chandler and rewards Jordan. Not saying this is the case at all but anyone saying chandler hasnt lived up to expectations yet is crazy.

I suspect that Chandler will be the next Freshman to lose his black stripe.

Again, I hope I'm wrong but I'm really worried about our rbs. Maybe it is because I live where I do, and I hear everyday how Tgey are tossing 4 and 5 star rbs away like their nothing, and then I read in here that Kelly is our bell cow and we can't decide if a rs fr 4 star or a true freshman 2 star is going to be our back up! Even Kelly was an after thought in the recruiting process. How many of those can we hit on. Having said that, no one will be more excited than me if we put 200 on GT, but if we have 103, it's not going to be good! If we come out and run the ball twice into the line and have 3rd and 8 or 9 every time I'll probably throw up in my mouth. I will be watching the rbs as much as any position group week one
