Besides Alabama, I don't see anyone in the West getting a bye in the tournament. East/West doesn't matter anymore but at least the weak west teams play home/away. With that said, I don't see Arkansas being very good at all. They aren't going to be very deep and that '40 minutes of hell' talk just aint happening this year. Ole Miss isn't going to be very good, Stansbury always has talent at state and they do absolutely nothing and LSU is still rebuilding. Everybody knows Auburn is still rebuilding and with low expectations, guys getting more mature with another year under Barbee, I think they'll be much improved over last year.

16-15 Overall 7-9 in SEC

We lose all the marquee non-conference games and another random one--I'm calling @CofC.

We do get a big upset somewhere in SEC play, and the home date with Vanderbilt seems like as good a spot as any. 3-3 against the West, split with Georgia, two wins over Carolina, two losses to UK and UF. I would not be at all unhappy with 7-9 in the SEC this year, and it's not too far out there. Would not be surprised, however, to see us start 1-6 and 3-9 in conference. Will test the resolve of both the team and the fan base.

With that schedule, 16-15 should get us NIT.

They could surprise a little. Depends. Golden, mcrae, hall, mcbee, woolridge, etc have to all be better than past year. It's all about spacing and hitting shots.

18 wins would be a big success for CCM. It has us winning the games we should, and a few we shouldn't. Can't wait!!!

i would love to see us do good this year. maybe an 18 win season. it will be fun to see CQM's coaching style. He's young and has played pro ball. young staff, i see them doing great in a few years. a couple of upsets this season would help the staff get their names out. i could see young high school players liking and relating to this guy because of his age and exp. in the pro's. can't wait.

Kudos.

Everyone else seemed 15-18 range which would mean expectations were exceeded. You were the only one calling for 20 wins, which they did actually hit.

You talking about UT basketball? UT didn't get to 20 last year or the year before. Close (19) both years but not 20.

Interesting to see this thread. There has been so much debate about coaching and what CCM inherited, and many were predicting 15-18 wins and a mediocre conference record. It seems he exceeded expectations. How soon we forget.

What have you done for me lately...I mean, yesterday?
