I've already got us ranked #3 in the "No, I'm Serious, Getting Really, Really, Ever So Close to Respectability Top 20 Poll," up from#6 last week.

Naw…maybe if we beat Ol' Miss after kicking butt against UF and CHAT…I think it depends on how strongly we play. I'd be static just being 4-2 or 5-2 (after win at Ol' Miss.).

Not happening. Maybe, just maybe, after Chattanooga. Then give me an Ole Miss win and we'll be in the higher teens

I honestly think we have posters who would take a loss to UF if it meant getting some media love for playing them tough over a win with UF getting bashed for not showing up for a weak UT team.

You don't get ranked by being 3-2 with zero wins over ranked opponents. Common sense folks think about it

And then, just maybe, we'll beat Bama. I doubt it but the hope is still there

Otherwise I say we'll end as #17 at 9-3
EDIT: I meant 8-4 not 9-3. I figure #11 If 9-3

Yeah, and we will have almost beaten Georgia, and we will have played a decent game against Oklahoma. That surely merits some consideration at 25 at the very least.

You don't get credit for almost wins and certainly not for losing by over 20

You actually do get credit for almost wins, at least in a way. If you lose two games by 30 points to unranked teams, you will plummet down the rankings. If you come within a hairs breadth of beating a potential SEC East Champion and top 10 team, then you don't fall quite so far. The fact is that we have beaten two 50-70 teams soundly, and have almost beaten a top 10 team. If we are 3-2 with a win against Florida to go along with that, I think that the voters will respond. Even if we don't make the top 25, we are only a few spots out.

Coming off a GA win, yes.
Just beating a bad UF team, no.

UTs first chance of earning a top 25 spot will be at Ole Miss. Assuming they win the next 2.

After beating Florida? Possibly.

After beating UTC? Definitely.
