Isnt it time to name something in honor of Coach Pearl? Weve got Neyland Stadium, The Summitt, Phil Fulmer Way, Peyton Manning Pass, and all that, but something seems to be missing. The glaring absence right now, especially in light of all that hes achieved so far and the unprecedented enthusiasm for the UT mens basketball program and where its headed is that there is no Bruce Pearl _______ (fill in the blank). No, Bruce Pearl, hasnt yet brought home the national championship that we know hes capable of, but weve got facilities named in honor of rich donors such as Pratt, Thompson, and Boling people none of us would recognize if we ran into them in the street. Yet, there is no facility, no avenue, not even a rock to honor a coach whos taken our program to unprecedented levels. Just doesnt seem right to me.
