Except for a brief spark (too little, too late) in the 4th quarter, this team looked like it was going through the motions. Lots of half effort plays, dribbling the ball of their foot, not hustling on defense. In fact, there were plays were the LVs did not even try to guard. I have never seen that, not even under Holly's watch.

The sad reality is that Standford did not play that great or else the score could have been mega embarrassing.

It really looks like Holly has lost the team. I don't think there is any coming back from this nadir.

Realistically, it is time to go with an interim coach and hope that some new leadership can provide a little spark; then decisions can be made for longer term solutions.

I realize it is not likely to happen but if Hart had any concern for the program, he would make a move to stop the bleeding. Winter break is an optimal time to make a transition. And Kyra is the most logical, immediate option for an interim coach. I think she could be a good motivator which is something that really seems to be lacking. Hopefully, she could bring in a new assistant with some offensive chops.

I just posted in the game thread;
If Dave Hart would fire Holly before SEC play starts and hires Elzy as interim head coach he will have done two things right. 1. Honored Pat's wishes and 2. stopped the toilet bowl swirl our storied "Lady Vols" are in. And then cough up a million or more for a coach we deserve.
Unless of course, Elzy starts winning.

This game wasn't as close as the score indicated. Oregon State will beat them worse than Stanford did. It's just sickening to watch. I'll say it again...HW should resign for the betterment of the LV program.

Based on what we have seen so far, your prediction is a good one. If that happens, I don't see how this team, with current leadership, could pick itself up for a strong SEC run.

I have been waiting (and indeed anticipating) some signs of improvement. In some very real ways, this was the LVs worst performance of the season and the lackluster attitude shown by the team is the most disconcerting aspect of it all. It just seems that they have lost faith in Holly and are going through the motions. When they make some plays, the players' competitive fires get a little stoked but there is no system to sustain it.

Stanford toyed with them. This was BAAAD.

In the previous games, even though the play was terrible, I felt like the players were making an effort, maybe with a couple of exceptions. This time, most of them were clearly just going through the motions.

Let's call in Don DeVoe to be the interim for the rest of this season. We may end up with only four or five players before the season ends but they will work hard and play hard or want be playing. Holly has lost this team because she has no clue. It is time to remove her and move in another direction with an interim coach with this year to go out and find a real coach for this team.

Thank you for the laugh.

Please no, not another former LV with NO head-coaching experience. If we're determined to keep it in the family, go with Tyler, who has the maturity and drive of a much older coach. I was hoping Holly could hold down the fort until Tyler had more HC experience, but the wheels are off the wagon (or motorcycle in Harley Holly's case). We need help now, so let's go with an established, disciplined, offense-minded with the proper emphasis on D, charismatic coach. Holly fits none of these attributes.

Tyler wouldn't leave his LT team in the lurch. But, day after his last game, Dave Hart better hire him back here! imho

Very nice young man. unproven as a coach. we don't have to hire someone just because they have a Lady vol background. we should aim much higher. we can't blow the next head coaching hire. unfortunately the hire won't be soon.

I have a huge health problem that I'm facing in the very near future. Any of ya crazy bastages that have a spare prayer or two and would send them my way, I would appreciate.

The worst thing is knowing that procrastination on my part was the cause. Don't do like me and sit around hoping it ain't serious. If you think you may be ill or not right", get your ass to medical care and get it checked out and corrected. my $0.02

This morning Massey dropped Tennessee down to #41. How can a team with so much talent play so poorly?

At some point one has to question this, or is it a completely coaching issue??? Probably a mix as I saw no 'sense of urgency' last night in their play.

I second your $0.02 worth as that worked for me. Hope things turn out for the best. Keep your toughness and faith.

Two years ago the men's team was talented but played with no emotion or urgency until Coach Martin was criticized. They rallied around their coach and made a Sweet 16 run. I do not think the players would rally around Holly.
It is a shame that Coach Martin could not get them to play with energy until his job was on the line.

Maybe the fans have been misled about the so-called talent. I didn't see much talent on display last night, from the players or the coaches.
