Except for a brief spark (too little, too late) in the 4th quarter, this team looked like it was going through the motions. Lots of half effort plays, dribbling the ball of their foot, not hustling on defense. In fact, there were plays were the LVs did not even try to guard. I have never seen that, not even under Holly's watch.
The sad reality is that Standford did not play that great or else the score could have been mega embarrassing.
It really looks like Holly has lost the team. I don't think there is any coming back from this nadir.
Realistically, it is time to go with an interim coach and hope that some new leadership can provide a little spark; then decisions can be made for longer term solutions.
I realize it is not likely to happen but if Hart had any concern for the program, he would make a move to stop the bleeding. Winter break is an optimal time to make a transition. And Kyra is the most logical, immediate option for an interim coach. I think she could be a good motivator which is something that really seems to be lacking. Hopefully, she could bring in a new assistant with some offensive chops.
