Timothy Jordan Commits to Vols

Have to trust coach G here. Every other team, including Ole Harbaugh at Michigan, were recruiting John Kelly to play DB. Look what G has done with him.

Yeah I know what I read here really affects my attitude towards a recruit. He's perfectly fine to take as a forth or fifth back. You are spot on about Kelly too. Good solid running back that was a 3 star,,,

He was actually recruited hard by Florida. Even the home visits if I remember correctly. They just weren't above North Carolina in his list because for whatever reason, he never seemed to have much interest in them.
Can't fault him for having common sense.

Or because they didn't offer? :dunno::dunno:

No, I meant Florida. A lot of programs don't offer unless the recruit shows some form of interest.
Obviously not how we do it, but I understand it.

Edit I went back and removed all that unnecessary offer list of other schools. Next time you can just ask why it doesn't say he was offered.

Boom. We needed another back in this class desperately. Nice film. Every kid in every class is not going to be a first year starter. Some may never be more than a role player. I see kids every year that were lightly recruited become stars. I'm not saying this guy will, but he wants to be a Vol and I'm happy to for him.

Kid has speed and seems to have good instinct.
I'm not stating the following as fact I would like for someone else closer to back it up. I believe the larger turn off for several programs was he was quite small. Seems like he had a spurt lately that put on quite a few pounds. By then he was off most people's radar. Now he's much closer in weight and supposedly our new s&c guy is capable of doing his part.

Looked quick on film. No way he is 6' 0'' as listed. Maybe a RB out of the flat that can catch the ball. Sproles 2.0

After Cam Akers chose Florida state, I doubt there were many great options out there. We do have one excellent running back committed and an excellent RB (Kelly) returning. With injury possibilities, this will help depth in years to come and who knows what Jordan may be in his redshirt junior or senior season?

They recruited him hard while not offering him?

Look, I'm good with him jumping on board, lotta smoke about his stock rising in recent weeks, and I think that maybe this is a good get for depth if nothing else.....but there's no reason to overstate things. If Florida was really recruiting him hard, 10 days out from NSD, wouldn't they have at least given him an offer?

Taking time out at this time of year for the pursuit of?
But I'm not picky. Call it showing him love, taking a serious interest in... Whatever shows he earned their interest during the most time sensitive part of the year but still meets your level of stating accuracy. I'm good with.
