Tiny Declares for the NFL Draft

Good luck Tiny, Go make some money!

Anyone what to take an educated guess on what NFL teams will be looking at him?

He gone. Good luck Tiny! I think another year in college would have helped him get drafted higher though.

Don't blame him at all. He has a shot to make good (possibly lots) of money for himself and his family. Good luck Tiny we will miss you. You Gave Your All For Tennessee.

Good for him. Hes a good kid and I'm glad he's gonna get paid. The crazy thing is though... Hes really not that great of a player. Imo James was the only really good, NFL caliber lineman we had. But Richardson is the one they'll love at the combine. It's the reason Chris hannon gets drafted in the third round and a guy like Jason swain never got his chance.

Clowney will make plenty of offensive linemen look bad in his pro career--so long as he's willing to put in the effort on the field. He could be a version of Lawrence Taylor. I'm not convinced, however, that he's willing to put in the kind of effort LT put into the game from the first moment he stepped foot on an NFL field. In college, LT put more effort into one game than Clowney has put into an entire season. It is hard to develop work ethic at the pro level where little has been demonstrated before. Hope Clowney can take that next step.

Richardson will put in the work and, barring injury, will enjoy the kind of career our coaches can point to in the future when recruiting future offensive linemen for Tennessee. He has a great chance to have the kind of career Johnson, Marvin, Wilkinson, McKenzie, and Clifton had at the pro level.

I am sad to see him leave, but excited for him as well. He will be with an NFL team that will implement the playing style he is used to and will be better than this year showed he was. I'm willing to bet he torches a lot of guys in the combine and goes mid to late first round. Who knows...maybe he will go to Minnesota, Tennessee, Oakland or Kansas City to rejoin Patterson, Hunter, Rivera or Bray. :)

"I'm so surprised", said no one, really.

Predicted OL next season, from Grant Ramey's twitter (@GrantRamey):

LT Dontavius Blair
LG Marcus Jackson
C Mack Crowder
RG Dylan Wiesman
RT Kyler Kerbyson

I know we're replacing a lot of experience, but the new group is actually pretty good. I'm not too bummed out about this.

I'm sure I'm gonna get flamed for this but... I really think we come out better with the swap. Our current group just never were all that successful. We couldn't run very well and the qb was always under pressure. Yet all I ever heard was how good they are. I wish our current group nothing but success and appreciate them but I'm ready the see what this new group can do!

I worry about Blair at LT. He's more of a natural RT, so I wouldn't be surprised to see Kerbs move to RG, Blair to RT, and Sanders to LT. Blair's best attribute is his run blocking ability, and he's not an elite pass protecting T. I'm sure he'll get a whorl at LT, but I think to get his full potential he should be used at RT.

You have watched that much of Blair's tape to be able to tell this? That offer list is not consistent with a guy who projects at RT and can't pass protect.

Tiny played much better last year in a pro style offence. Being that is based off the NFL I think he will be just fine.

I think he will represent the VOLS well in the league wherever he lands.

I never said he couldn't pass protect, you just assumed that. I also never said he couldn't succeed at LT. Also, I'm not sure how an offer list effects how someone is a LT or RT. James was a 5 star prospect out of high school, does that mean he should have been a LT here?

I think the words, I'm worried about Blair at LT, and he isn't an elite pass blocker speak for themselves. And I'm honestly still waiting for you to reveal to us what you've watched of Blair that would cause you to say that. And James was recruited here, by Kiffin to play LT. It's not exactly the same as the NFL, but those who project as LTs still end up rated higher.

Well, you did make definitive statements about a guy none of us have seen play a full game. James probably would have been the LT had we not bagged Tiny the very next year.

No surprise here. In other news, did anyone notice the espn weekly recruiting roundup? Conveniently neglected a key commitment this week......
