At least they have won SBs
and what do you know?? We are number 1, titans, lucky number 13
2008 NFL Football Attendance - National Football League - ESPN
More sour grapes... Whaaa!! We cant pony up the big bucks because our market is too small
Move evidence of sour grapes
good luck on that first SB trophy, man that Titans trophy case sure looks empty
I am still waiting on that list of HOFers from the Titans/Oilers. We can compare once that list is complied
Then again that is another indictment on the way they run the franchise. Even after going through previous seasons of moves like this not working out they continue to go this route. I am convinced that Washington as a franchise is not so much committed to winning but rather putting more big name guys on the roster to sell seats and increase their bottom line.
ridiculous. The Redskins could use any 22 guys from this board to be their starters and they'd still sell the tickets. The actual fans have a very difficult time buying tickets in DC because the politicians and their employees gobble most of them up for schmoozing.
After reading your post and thinking about it you are probably right. Which leads me to wonder how smart their front office is because they keep doing the same thing and expecting different results. I think they will be better next year but that window will close soon.
Dan Snyder is an idiot, but Joe (silence as a crowd of angels begins to sing his praise) Gibbs taught him a few things and he's more hands off now and puts the player personnel and coaching moves in the right hands now. To pretend though that the Titans are so ran so gloriously better is laughable. They aren't that great either.
I understand what you are saying and for the record I find some of the moves the Titans have made questionable.
When I say I think they are running the team better I guess I'm being way too vague. What i mean is the Titans get their core players through the draft and develop those guys and look for role players who can help the team through free agency. It helps keep the cap numbers down and doesn't put the team into rebuild mode every 4 or 5 years. I think the Titans leaned a big lesson soon after they came to Nashville about having to rebuild a team.
Really? I think we are good to go on WR, we need some OL for depth and thats about it. I wouldnt mind seeing us grab Moreno.
I bet we trade down
well the 'Skins did hit the bottom a little harder than the Titans and had to start somewhere and there was too many holes for a draft to fill. Free Agents got the ball rolling, but a lot of the core players now were either drafted or picked up via trades and free agency early in their careers. It will just take a few years for the 'Skins to shed that always pick up old vets for too much money reputation. For example, the only old vet picked up last year was Jason Taylor, and that was because of a late summer injury and he's no longer on the team.
This year, they've signed considerably younger players. Dockery is 28, Haynesworth 27 and Hall is 25. Not extremely young, but compared to the Deion Sanders and Bruce Smith pickups, these guys are just babies and in the prime of their careers. And they haven't been forfeiting nearly as many draft picks, so they can start rebuilding the team that way.
Look for a heavy dose of receivers and most likely rbs in the upcoming drafts.

Moss had a good year over 1k recieving, plus he had some really good returns
randle el had a decent season
Cooley is solid and I am looking for Fred Davis, Kelly and Thomas to step it up
Yea I guess you are right, we could use a WR
Only five wins better...13-3 isn't all that great anyway, you know.
one season doesn't make or break a franchise. What a stupid point to your argument. Let's see what you do without the big man. Your team has survived on an old qb that you didn't draft. Your Vince Young and PacMan draft picks were gold though weren't they?
That's why we have six ten-win seasons and three division titles in the last ten years. You are trying to argue that one of the most consistently successful franchises in the NFL over the last decade is not consistently successful. Our 96 wins over the past ten seasons puts us in the top 5 in the NFL. You act like we came out of nowhere. We were a perennial playoff team who struggled during a two-year transitional period. After that, we went right back to making the playoffs every year and will continue the trend this year.
Pacman was on his way to becoming a Pro Bowl CB before he decided he cared more about strippers. He had no history of legal troubles before we drafted him. And Vince Young will start after Kerry Collins is gone. He is 18-11 as a starter and can and did beat the Redskins.

We have been better than the Redskins in seven of the last ten seasons...and two of the other three were during our aforementioned rebuilding stage.
And yes, because Kerry Collins was definitely our best player. It wasn't the AFC's third-leading rusher at all. It's not like our offense shut down against the Ravens when Chris Johnson went out of the game. No, we are a passing team, of course. And yeah we wouldn't have won five games with Vince Young starting. Just look at 2007, when he started all year, and we...won 10 games...
