Just look at the video of the over throws and missed TD's. There are maybe 8-10 of those. If he hits those, give him another 400-500 yards and 6-7 more TD.
That would be around 3k in yards and 25 TD.
You do that-come get you some more money.
We address the Oline in the winter portal.
Receivers? Possible gripe but you didn't hit the ones you had. What good does faster incompletions do for you
True. And hitting those deep balls also opens up the run game much more.

It is a fact plain and simple, a reality check for the family.
If all that was said is true, one must feel sorry for Nico and culture or not playing into it may have a role. However, Nico could not stand before his dad and tell him to lay off and back away from the situation. CJH probably had several conversations with him about this and felt that he could not get involved in the situation with Nic any more than he already had stated to him. What's more, a kid/young man probably had enormous pressure on him to succeed. Screw up situation for all. The statement made by CJH was to Nic not Nico. Dad made the bed for Nico to lie in.

He left a perennial top 5-15 offense to go to the 115th offense? Their o-line was like 112-113th in sacks. He is going to have to face that OSU team with a worse o-line. Rumors are he signed for 650,000-750,000, he lost over 1.5 million. I would be pissed at dad if I was him. He is now the poster child for failed portal attempts and family stupidity.

Said it wasn’t about money but that Nico Team became disenchanted cause Tennessee promised to change the offense for Nico. This is spin the Family is using to wipe the embarrassment off their face.

First, Nico committed in summer of 2022, right? Heupel’s offense was scoring pretty big in 2022. Why in hell would he want to change? He wouldn’t.

Second, The offense would have been great it Nico had been the least bit consistent. Nico was the Primary reason the offense struggled.

TJ don’t know what he’s talking about.
He's a friend of the family and is as much of a clown as papa nic. I've never seen such a delusional and psychotic group of people in my life. There are some serious mental health issues here.

I don't get why everyone keeps saying this narrative is "spin?" This was reported during the winter transfer window as being a reason of concern by Nico's camp after getting blasted by Ohio State. Then it was brought up a few days ago with these contract negotiations. It's not like this is some narrative we hadn't heard previously made out of thin air.

The truth is, Tennessee's offense was less effective from a schematic standpoint last year. The offense also lost alot of senior talent. And we didn't quite do much in adding skilled position players. There may be some validity to it. That doesn't mean money wasn't a factor. But both could be true.
Was it less effective schematically due to QB limitations?

I saw a lot of open receivers not seen, overthrown wide open receivers & dropped passes. I go back to Billy Napiers comment at half time “we’re gonna make the QB beat us”. Without the Lagway INT to Carter & Mertz injury, Florida would have won that game. Nico was terrible that night.

I heard that 💩 he was saying, how it wasn’t about money, but offense and players. What offense did originally sign to play in? CYA from the family which he supposedly knows. Funny how all of the sudden all these mediocre at best, radio people are experts on the ins and outs of the UT football program
Just like some of our fans

The way I see it, the father is trying to spin this to make Nico look innocent and wounded. Reality is that they thought Heupel would fold and give them what they wanted. If Heupel would have caved, then every player could try to do the same thing. Change the system because that is what they are familiar with. It would be a never ending cycle of changing every time they were asked/told to or that player will leave. That would certainly be a recipe for disaster.

NFL Application: I need the offense to fit me. Great idea, right?

It’s a diva WR, they’re always going to side with the player in any situation. You’ve got a few like Rice and Fitzgerald that are fairly normal but as a position you have a lot of crazy personalities there.

As others have said, one of the main reasons the offense struggled was Nico. If you compare the one year Joe Milton was the starting QB, compared to the one year Nico was the starting QB, you see a few interesting things. First off, I will support whomever is the starting QB, but I will not tolerate any NIL related crap like this year. If you are loyal to the team, I will be loyal to the player as a fan.

Comparing Joe Milton to Nico Iamaleava, here are the differences:

Joe Milton completed 16 more passes on 20 more attempts with a completion percentage 0.9% better. He threw for 197 more yards with those extra completions. He threw for 1 more touchdown, but accounted for 5 more TDs total.
Adding to this, the running game was less prominent. The RBs rushed for 56 fewer carries for 224 fewer yards. They also accounted for 16 fewer TDs than this year.

I bring this up because many on here considered Joe Milton as an average QB at best. If the offense performed this much worse with Nico at the helm, what does that say about Nico? You decide. I do not feel it was anything worth the NIL money he was getting, little less warranting a raise.

Here is my take on Nico. He will go somewhere and play against lesser competition, ball out and all the news media, especially ESPN, will say how the Tennessee coaches and system were holding him back.
