No. This Lamar Brown came to West High from one of the Morristown schools. Played for Sparks at Carson Newman.
Correct. Coached at Morristown West after being defensive coordinator for Don Woods at Morristown west for years. I’m pretty sure he is originally from, and played at, Jefferson county.

Michigan State really did this kid wrong. Told him all along he had a spot, then cut him in ESD.
wow and ow
graduated from West in 68, and it's sent very few players to the major conferened and only 1 (chuck ramsey) , I think, to the NFL

Tennessee & Pruitt did this same thing to a kid at Chattanooga Baylor a couple years ago. Baylor has multiple D1 signees in every sport, including football each year, yet Peanut proceeded to take a big dump at one of the most prestigous schools in the South and instate. Now, Baylor has a top OL prospect for next year that Tennessee wants. Gladly Peanut isnt the coach here anymore and hopefully the stinch of his actions has cleared out.

Seriously, Jeremy Pruitt is the lowest form of intelligence on earth.

6'1 and clocked 4.49 at a showcase... that's a really good PWO pick up. Even if these kids never cracked the starting 11 they'll be ST players and that's less starters pulling duties and increasing injury risk.

I totally agree. Special teams and overall depth is getting better and thats important. But this kid and a couple others may find themselves contributing even more than that in a yr or two.

I think some of these kids are taking PWO since we can't give schollys at the moment.

When we have schollys to give, he is at the top of that list.

Also prob getting a little NIL money that pays for the school. Its clear thats what we are doing and i dont blame them at all. The caliber of PWO has gone up.

Think we give them Initial Counter spots asap?

Good news is if we just hold off till this time next year they could skirt being IC/signees. All we have to do is float their scholarship for a year or let em pay instate just 2 semesters.

Feels more and more likely.

Curious, these kids can still use the TN lottery scholarships too? Is that even still a thing, just assumed so.

Gotcha. Wasn't sure if accepting too many other scholarship monies would force the team to count them as an initial counter.
NIL money isn't scholarship money thank God or we might have an issue.
