'24 TN CB Jaren Sensabaugh

Gotta feeling we're gonna see a mass exodus in Missouri next year when they struggle to win 6 games and figure out Dorkwitz is Butch Jones 2.0

They have arguably the most favorable SEC schedule next year. I think they have a good chance to follow up this season with 10 wins. Have to play the games but they’re well positioned.

In principle, this works. In practice, this thought process is dumb as h@@@. That’s like telling a cardiac surgeon, hey, don’t worry about the ones that died on your watch, just worry about the ones that are alive. Makes sense, you can’t help dead people…but you probably should find out why they aren’t alive…

In practice, it also works.

Unless you try comparing football recruiting to something that has absolutely zero similarities like cardiac surgery.

The person that said that while coaching here no longer has a job…so, you can either figure out why you swing and miss 24-7 or act like everything is cool. Can’t bi&&& when we are 7-5. I don’t think this kid is the reason you’re 9-3 or 7-5 next year, but this staff has struck out a lot this year. This year proved this staff isn’t magic workers. They need talent.

That person isn’t coaching here bc he sucked as a HC, not as a recruiter.

The very example of that being that we went 11-2 last year with nearly all impact players being recruited while he was here.

That's not the issue though. If it's true that the staff was pushing for this kid and couldn't seal the deal, after some other whiffs to end this cycle, is more than a little worrisome.
Is it really??

Hypothetical Sensabaugh: "I want $500,000 in NIL."

Hypothetical Tennessee: "We'll give you $75,000-$100,000."

Hypothetical Missouri: "We'll give you $300,000--$500,000."

Did we really "miss"? Do we really, truly miss whenever this happens? Whenever, hypothetically, we decide, "You know, the kid's just not worth that"??
Why do I have to be worried/concerned/troubled if Missouri gave Jaren Sensabaugh the bank, and we weren't willing to??

If we offered Nwaneri 2 million, and Missouri offered 5 million, did we really "miss", in the traditional way misses use to go? What should we do, offer 6, 7 million, maybe 10??

Yep. I think 9 wins is their floor next year based on how easy their schedule is.

I still don't understand how they were able to get the better of us in the trenches on both sides of the ball. Really boggles my mind.

I guess I have to give credit to Drink's mesh scheme. I could certainly see them following up this year with another good one. And so far they've been able to attract some good recruits as well.

Lol what? Want to talk about all those senior DBs he got us? Who’s the best player on our defense…did Pruitt recruit him too? That 11-2 season had everything to do with JH getting an elite QB and putting him in a position to win.

While I am not advocating for us to pay for someone like Sensabaugh, AP has stated that Spyre had allocated money to make an impact in the portal if needed, but the coaching staff didn't pursue some of the big names because they don't want to upset others on the team. We apparently have the best collective in college football, yet our high school recruiting and transfer portal classes are not top-tier (albeit they are very good). It feels like Ole Miss is all in on this year; meanwhile, we will most likely get two years of Nico, and we are scared to bring in portal players because it will upset our younger talent. Our younger talent is good but not great based on their ranking. We missed on Seaton and didn't go after the best players in the portal. When does the staff expect to use the money we allocated for both? Do we have a bunch of sub-par recruiters being carried by an elite collective?

Patrick Brown alluding to the "Asking Price" in NIL, same thing AP was referring to - you don't offer premium NIL for a non-impact player. For the star gazers, where is Mizzou's class ranked?

No one would’ve cared 48hrs ago. I still don’t, we got the premier corner in state this class.
this is where I am at. the same people went from being pissed we were recruiting him, to being pissed that we didn't land him. absolutely no transition or middle ground, no self awareness.

lol, LMAO, even. A majority of this thread is trashing the kid and his family, and now the LOM is upset.

You’re missing the point. What posters posted in this thread has absolutely nothing to do with how the staff was recruiting him.

If this dude ends up committing to Mizzou, we’ll have the same people complaining about recruiting a 3-star switching their tunes to talk about how it’s a red flag that our staff is so bad at recruiting they can’t even land a 3-star.

Bumping this for literally no reason at all.

35+ players left post-Pruitt.

That elite QB committed to UT under Pruitt, not Heup. Our top 3 leading rushers, leading passer, the Biletnikoff winner, Keyton, Tillman, our top 5 leading tacklers all committed under Pruitt.

And yes I agree the reason we won 11 is bc of Heupel. We aren’t debating that?

Edit: really our top 4 rushers bc I believe Sampson committed to Pruitt’s staff and then re-committed to Heup. Might be remembering that one wrong.
