'24 TN DB Boo Carter (Tennessee)

Hopefully the dream comes true and we somehow land Harris.

LCB - McCoy
Safety - Thomas
Safety - Prob Boo or Turrentine
RCB - Harris
Star - Jourdan Thomas
John Slaughter likely figures in the mix at FS. That looks like a much more athletic DBackfield than we’ve had under Heupel, which means Banks should feel comfortable playing more press man when we blitz.

You're skipping over our recent best...Theo Jackson, but he's 6'2"~ 200 lb also. Some players carve out their unique niche with unique skills...like Tyrann Mathieu. That's a lot to put on a young, unproven player, but there's nothing that Boo has displayed that would have me betting against him being our own Honey Badger.
I didn’t skip Theo Jackson, he’s “T. Jackson” different sites had 6’1” vs 6’2” I went with the shorter of the 2.

Watching Bradley this year, Boo looked more like a safety while his teammate Goree looked more like a nickel

I’m thinking
McCoy
R Gibson
Boo
Slaughter
And Jordan or MTSU transfer

With Matthews, Christian Charles, and Jordan Thomas or MTSU transfer getting alot of playing time and maybe even Beasley… secondary may get beat more but should be much more athletic and create more TOs and big plays

If that’s the case we are wayyyy more athletic than we have been in a while. And Matthews, Gibson and Slaughter will play a lot bc the staff loves them as they should. I’ll take it.

That’s exactly how it’ll look if we don’t get Harris, with the caveat that Jourdon Thomas could be the STAR or a safety. I bet he starts at one or the other though.

Is it possible to “ get beat more”? Like I watched every snap this secondary played the last few yrs as you all did and typically there’s not a single Vol in the tv frame when an opponent makes a catch. Not even kidding. If there is, it’s usually a missed tackle initially or a PI bc the DB didn’t turn his head.

Gotta say that when the dust settles, this kid might turn out to be the most impactful recruit in the class. He's got my vote as the one most likely to crack the lineup first among the HS signees.
I said the same thing about Jordan Matthews last year and he’s hardly seen the field 😂

I mean get beat over the top… under banks we rarely get beat deep but Often torched in the intermediate…I should’ve clarified that

In fairness, he did throw the same amount of INT’s in one season as Hooker did his entire time here

You have a point in which I think watching HH play here warped the minds of many in the fan base.

Milton isn’t great but this was the conference:

Daniels 40 td / 4 int (the only qb that could be compared to HH)

Leary 23 / 10

Milroe 23 / 6

Beck 22 / 6

Milton 20 / 5

Mertz 20 / 3

Cook 20 / 6

Dart 20 / 5

Rattler 19 / 8

KJ Jefferson 19 / 8

Thorne 15 / 9

Will Rogers 12 / 4

AJ Swann 12 / 7

This explains why the SEC was so mediocre this season

Yeah I mean I guess 5 teams in the top 13 of the rankings is mediocre ? 6 in the top 21 including Vols.

Crazy bc if you read this place then you would think we went 5-7

Edit: for reference, 2022 there were 3 SEC teams in top 13. Still 6 in top 25

I honestly think Hendo was 10x better than Dobbs, Ik that’s a hot take but still, HH is the best QB to play for UT during my lifetime so far

Hooker could throw it better than Dobbs. Running ability was about the same.

I agree Hooker was better though, no arguing that.
