Destin Wade Stats, News, Bio | ESPNTbh, you have to kind of respect the coaching staff for being straight up with a kid about their intentions for him. Compare that to how Kentucky just blatantly lied to that TN kid a few years back about him playing QB when they had zero intention of following through just so they could get him.
I stand corrected, I didn't know he actually did end up playing QB for them.Destin Wade Stats, News, Bio | ESPN
He is playing qb….. started their bow game…. He is just not a real good qb….did the same with Randall Cobb….. seemed to work out ok for them….. I have no problem letting a kid try his preferred position and then moving him when he doesn’t win the job.

I think its the news from last 24 hours, where we led for guys and didnt close. Truth is fhe staff very well may have higher rated guys, on their board, and Boo wants to play O.At the risk of sounding too "didn't want him anyway"-ish, if we are insistent on playing him on defense, I'm not sure I'd view this as a huge loss. I've been adamant about my preference for him on offense, and I'm just not sure we should be clutching our pearls over potentially losing a 5-10 defensive back in June.
You hate it because we've put in a lot of time and led for him for forever and he's in-state, but undersized DBs are a dime-a-dozen. No doubt it sucks when compounded with all the other unfortunate recruiting news of the past 24 hours.

It is strange to think they've come all this way together only for the question of which side of the ball he's going to play on to suddenly be the sticking point in June before his senior year. You'd have thought that would have been worked out at this point, and it certainly seems like it's Boo who has sort of backtracked because he has mentioned multiple times that we are recruiting him at DB in interviews and never once have I heard him say he'd prefer offense. Just odd that he'd suddenly reverse course on that, but we all want what we want, so if Michigan is willing to let him play on offense, and we...for some reason...aren't, then I don't blame him for choosing him if that's what he eventually does.I think its the news from last 24 hours, where we led for guys and didnt close. That said , this guy is talented.
The whole thing, coupled with the Franklin news, is all very strange to me. Certainly we needed a win.It is strange to think they've come all this way together only for the question of which side of the ball he's going to play on to suddenly be the sticking point in June before his senior year.
