Any word on if we get any of the seven back that were out last week ?
Idk that anyone has heard definitively. Tillman practiced some before the UTM game, very limited though. McCullough who knows more legal than health related, sounds like he could be back soon though given they put out press saying he didn’t violate conduct policy.

I think the University Student Conduct Board (if I got that right) ruled the way they did because (a) it was off campus and (b) it did not involve a fellow student.

This is 100% MO, but just how it seems to me.

If so, the ruling means nothing with regard to his playing status. That will come down to whether he is charged or not.

I think you’re absolutely right about the rule. I just think the university putting that statement out likely means this is moving towards resolution. Jmo

correct as the ruling enables him to remain a UT student instead. I never thought about the academic side before until this incident. Basically the university could’ve ruled he was suspended as a student.

IIRC, his court date (arraignment?) is November 18. Unless he is cleared before then, or the drunken dimwit that trespassed drops the charges, I don’t expect him to play.

That’s the second part of his “process” that Heup is referring to.

None of us truly know the facts. But, unless it is more than the “drunken dimwit” mistakenly entering his apartment, it didn’t give him the right to chase the “dimwit” down to beat on them. Maybe he needs to learn to control himself.

Again, these are the facts I read, but it doesn’t mean they’re accurate.

Huh? McCollough is cleared to play. No way they would play him if charges weren't dropped. What you read was the drunk guys one side. Now go read the other side.

That is literally the statement given by the person that got his ass kicked.

And it turns out, in the police report, he still had a handle of vodka in his hand. KPD thinks that's a reliable account, apparently.

And it turns out, in the testimony from two witnesses, there was no chasing down at all and apparently outright belligerence from the ass-kickee.

I hope they are all back, but seems to me like there isn’t much difference between McCullugh/Hadden and the rest of our DBs. We don’t seem to have a playmaker in the secondary, just a bunch of bodies. Dee may change that tho. We’ll see

“As it turns out…”

Can you cite your “evidence” if it is any better than the hearsay that was reported?

I’m glad he is able to play, too, but I’m not going to let my bias decide which side I believe when I wasn’t there and don’t know the real facts.

Plus, mere belligerence shouldn’t be enough to pummel someone. JMO

The university decided there wasn't enough to hold him responsible for conduct issues. You've now been linked the additional materials.

Fascinating that you'll hastily jump to foolish conclusions one way, but not let someone else take the other side. Fascinating indeed.

Have you read the account from JM and the other witnesses that corroborate his account?

You have the "evidence" of the testimony of a drunk guy who apparently entered an apartment then refused to leave vs... pretty much everyone else and apparently the physical evidence.

How does this sound? Guy entered the apartment under what exact circumstances we do not know. Maybe he was lost. Maybe he knew the girl or someone else. He was told to leave. He began to argue and refused to leave. Finally he was threatened and left but then threatened or attempted to come back in. JM then punched him. Probably from having his bell run and being drunk, he then fell down the stairs. When the police arrived, he told a drunken story that clumsily attempted to white wash his own guilt. Now both sides have been told. It appears that he was in fact primarily at fault for the incident.

We really need Hadden and Charles back. Heard Charles was a game time decision. Don’t want to have Rucker out there. Noticeable drop off which says a lot.
I forgot about Charles. Someone here claiming to have an insider link said he wouldn't play but that Turnage and Hadden would.

Rucker for his part is learning and benefitting from the experience he's getting. He had good coverage vs Bama on several plays and just got beat by a better throw.

My biggest complaint with all of UT's DBs is that they aren't physical enough at the LOS.

Rucker has been ok in coverage but he’s definitely on the small side so he can get picked on. Not going to see him break up a lot of passes.
