Doug Matthews was saying we have 21 scholarships available this year, but Pruitt will probably borrow from next year's class to up this years numbers

I sincerely doubt we are finalizing anything. not being an ass but, do you guys not remember the previous (insert year #) signing days? we are in on a lot of players.
Recruiting has changed with the early signing period. The timeline has moved up.

I agree that there are a handful of guys that will announce late, and we will find room for them. But I just don’t see major turnover at this point.

I’m asking for a headache, but who are the four counting forward? The grad transfers, I assume, Chryst, London and Kennedy. Who’s the other?

Chryst, London and Kennedy count against ’19. George and Thompson were late additions to the ‘18 class. The others are walk-ons.

It’s 22 spots. Coach Matthews is wrong.

If we take 3 grad transfers. Then we’ll have 22 in 20. Eventually we stop.
Exactly but what i have been trying to say is that for the first 2 years i think we will take 25. Then i think we might take 24 after that until caught up.

I thought it was 22 but wondered if he knew something I didn't.
I think he subscribes to my former numbers thought process...since Freaked...I mean tweaked. ;)

Who cares about the numbers? They'll work themselves out. If they get 22, they get 22. If they get 25, they get 25. I couldn't care less, the numbers work themselves out.

Works for you? Go with that. I don’t “worry” about numbers, I just acknowledge the factor they represent. Right now we have four available spots. Got a few more athletes that we’re interested in past that four. I “care” about who we end up with in this next class...because that’s who is going to be on the team I cheer for. The numbers are what they are...they ain’t working THEMSELVES out. The coaches are.

You knew what I meant when I said they work themselves out. And I'm not worried about who will and won't get in this class until they sign on the dotted line. They'll make room for the big guys and other guys will move on if they have to. I'm just saying, I'm not dead set on there only being 21 or 22 spots available in this class. But we'll see. I'll acknowledge if I'm wrong, because Lord knows I'm wrong plenty in my life.

So we have 22?

Yes. Some people are counting George forward, but there was room for him in the '18 class.

It's way too early to hard count the number of spots left. The coaches are going after the best players they can get to fill the positions of greatest need. If they can recruit over a current commit, they're going to do that. Some will complain, but it's all part of building a championship-caliber team as quickly as possible.

I haven’t seen where you could be considered “wrong”. It’s your approach. Mine’s different and I’m going to articulate as such.

same thing will be said next year and the next. hopefully the coaches have it all down, cause it could blow up with a slip up.

If everything goes according to plan and we "coach 'em up," then we will be fine taking 22-24 recruits in the future.

There’s a few I could see getting recruited over for sure if the right guys wanted in.
