'22 TN DT Walter Nolen (Ole Miss)

Here's the thing with Nolen. His parents obviously want to be able to see him play in person. They have 2 younger sons that also play, and are legit D1 prospects. I don't know if he's coming here or not, but it only makes sense with having a DL coach with one of the best reputations in all of college football on staff. It's hard to watch one son play on Friday night, and then have to travel every single week to watch the other play on Saturday. They've already uprooted the family to move to Knoxville. To many factors play in our favor here. But, I may be making to much sense. That's not even considering a nice NIL package in a class where he's likely to be the only 5*.

why would he tweet he could see himself with the Gators if he wasn't seriously considering them... we out... he gon... we aren't lucky enough or in the position for top recruits to be trolling our rivals and then come here... it's always the other way around... tons of kids have F'd with us and led us along, only to go somewhere else signing day... I would be shocked if this kid comes here at this point.

Logic. That's a bold move.

Because recruiting is just a game. He's playing it.

This recruitment will go all the way to signing day, so there's no need to worry about anything he says at this point.

He is building Up his Twitter following. He has posted things in the past trying to get his count up.

Absolutely. I just think he's leading alot of people on to believe we're going to land him. And maybe I should re-phrase it. He may not be playing us like we've seen some recruits do in the past...I just think he's including us in the picture so people in ETN area will leave him alone about playing for the instate school.
Why are you getting n his thread if we have no chance?

I agree and I wouldn't be surprised if that move were financed by a booster as part of a "NIL deal" in addition to further payments under said deal. Perhaps a Pilot deal

All big time businesses associated with the University or surrounding areas should step up before they start putting major regulations on NIL.

Finally, the Walter Nolen sweepstakes rolls on and as predicted, this recruitment will have more twists and turns than the dragon. Rodney Garner just continues to be steady and keep Tennessee firmly in the mix here. Tennessee currently sits with two commitments from instate players. That number could grow with Nolen, Jones and potentially others.

kids love playing the game. This generation thrives on the attention via social media from each school and he gets one chance to have fun with it.

Too much sense for us to not have the edge here. To me it is now more about Warren than Walter, I believe we get Walter with all the factors and logistics you stated.

It will have to change. The level of potential corruption and other aspects that are detrimental to the kids (under the current NIL set up) are to great.
Hey I agree & think it's awful mostly but there is zero chance the ncaa or anyone else is going to limit in any manner, way or amount of money they can make

You may not know as mochas you think you know. Living in Alabama may have warped you mind.
Seriously, I think we have a very good chance to sign him. Walls has taught him most of what he knows about football and the family respects and trusts him. I think he also respects Garner as a very good coach.
