apologies.

you have to factor in the number of misses. I'm not calling any position with unproven players a "strength" no matter how deep, until the players prove something in actual games.

some guys won't work out. some guys will take longer to hit their stride.

we need guards in the worst way and many people seem to think we're going to take a half-dozen tackles.

The interior part of our line is in bad shape and we have no center for next season. I expect 2 more tackles in this class, but we need more guards as well.

Agreed, that's why I hope we look in the JUCO ranks for some players who can play when they step on campus.

Revis is definately not ready to play. He looks smaller than our TEs. We definately need 3 if not 4 OL this class.

Guys the coaches know this!

Jose Jose is being recruited to fill the center hole according to some guys I trust on here.

Damien Robinson, Cullen, Stone, JaWuan James and Leifheit. I am leaving off Arie K because I think we are top 3 but will miss with him. Of the guys above we have a legit shot at all of them and I feel certain we end up with 3 of them.

Juco guys will help, but December enrollees can also do well, and Leifheit would be one. I cannot confirm but I think Cullen is not.

Luc is though. I keep stoking that dream...Oh man. If we got him it would be like Christmas.

I'm commenting on everyone's mock classes and predictions that have no guards. We need OG's yesterday.

That's why I keep trying to remind everybody about Dalvin Glass. The staff seems to love him at guard. UT is on him VERY hard, but no one seems to notice...

I was responding to Dawson. Oher was a tackle cut from the NFL tackle factory mold for perfection. Lots of other guys can be interchangeable at Guard and Tackle. I would say from the list of Stone, Robinson, Cullen, Leifheit, Moses and JaWuan James you could find some meat to move around.

but i dont know. ending with all just 4* and 5* seems more of a fantasy than reality. it would be nice but florida, USC, Bama or LSU dont even do that..and they are the best recruiting schools right now

Look at who we are in it for right now! Also we have a stronger recruiting staff than all of the above schools. We have one of the best recruiters from Bama in Lance Thompson, and one of the best Florida recruiters period in Gran, plus Monte freaking Kiffin and Ed Orgeron. Even guys like Cregg have done a good job.

What purpose did this post serve? Were you trying to make a point?

This was said...

Thanks! I am so excited about this season within a season. I think we will do better than Saban his first year in terms of wins and I think we are going to be top 5 year after year after year instead of Fulmer where we would be top 5, then 28, then top 5 then 18 then top 5 then unranked.

But to everyone who thinks Stars are all that matter and not player development, Jonathan Crompton was a 5 star and was rated close to Mark Sanchez coming out of high school along with a guy named Ryan Perriloux who has flamed out even more spectacularly than JC.

But i was helping his point by mentioning how, in that class, McCoy was a 3 Star.

I dont see it as a fantasy at all. They have positioned themselves unbelievably well with at least 6-7 4*'s out there.

This isn't like the past staff where everyone's wish lists were just not realistic because they were always 3rd and 4th on players lists. Now we are 1st or 2nd on players list heading into visits. Big difference.

Awesome OP! But still, stars don't matter. This staff's evaluations are second to none, and if a 3-star is who they want, then I trust they will be just fine.

I agree 423, but I think when we took Pair we had no idea we would have such a legit shot with Stone who was considered a Vandy-Bama lean at one point, D Robinson who was at one point considered a Miss school lean, JaWuan James who was considered a solid Bama commit, Morgan Moses who was then a UVA renrolle lock etc. Shoot Leifheit was considered by most a UNC lock.

This staff in the above guys and Cullen is dealing with 4 more Fulton type guys. Jose Jose was the project they all believed in, I do not think that Pair was.

No...I'm positive that we end up with atleast one 3*. Book it. Anyone who thinks otherwise is really reaching. I'm sorry if you can't see that, but thats just the way it is. Sorry.

i have a question....

with the cap inching closer and closer does the staff use a "texas" like pressure to get guys on board

for example: "hey guys the class caps at 28... that leaves room for 7 more of you and there are over 15 of you still on the board as you can see the numbers dont add up..."

It will be very similar. The staff will let it be known to the guys they really want -- say Riley -- and tell them that they are saving that last schollie for them.

I think we do for some positions and not for others.

R Powell will never feel pressure that we are done with DE. He knows that we will take him no matter what if he wants to come.

I think we take the first of Seastrunk, Bernard, M Brown, Dyer and Lattimore and I think that we only take one.

I think come mid-December that very well could happen.

Once they have the 8-10 mid-termers enrolled and sealed away I think they'll breath a big sigh of relief and then become much pickier the rest of the way.

It is absolutely huge to be able to get 8-10 guys in this class in the fold by mid December. Just huge!
