152-52, Fulmer's record at UT as Coach

62-63, UT's record since "fahring" Fulmer

Even if you take just the much maligned last 7 years of the Fulmer regime, looking at UT's record you still have a 57-32 record, with 2 appearances in Atlanta in that time. That's still good enough for 23rd among FBS programs during that period.

Meanwhile since we decided we could do much better than Fulmer we are 70th in wins among FBS programs. In other words we are looking up, WAY up at the depths of despair to which Fulmer supposedly led us.

I don't know why it is so hard for some of you to admit you are wrong about this, because the numbers emphatically say you are wrong. And I love that you can't acknowledge the fact that Fulmer at the time he was fired had a better track record than about 9 out of 10 potential coaching candidates, so the odds were pretty poor that we were going to find someone better. It was like hitting on 18 or 19 in black jack, yeah, we could have hit 21, but the odds were much better we'd bust. And boy did we.

I don’t agree with his reason why but I’m not him. If I was in his position I would tear down a brick wall to get to Knoxville. The problem is he is not nor has he ever been all vol like us.

We all know most small towns have people that live/die by high school sports. They hang out at the Shell coffee station, hardware store, breakfast diner, or bait shop discussing the local team. Probably one of them........
