Randall Cobb went to Alcoa High School. One of the best programs in East Tennessee, literally right down the road from UT. The great pumpkin offered him a scholarship at the end of the signing period as an afterthought. UK had been after him for a year. Also, UK had another Alcoa grad playing wide receiver already. UT could have had him if they'd offered him a scholarship before the last minute.

That was also 2008. When Phil took Casey Kelly as our QB for that class. That worked out well. Looking at UT 2008 signing class, not a single person has performed near as well as Randall Cobb has at Kentucky. Kid is a winner. Playing QB and DB on a multiple state championship team.

That still doesn't get at the fact that he wanted to play QB and never would have at UT. Phil was trying to pull him as a WR and he wanted a shot at QB so he went some where that he could get it.
