'25 TN LB Brenden Anes (Tennessee)

Having an amazing LB group coming in makes it much easier to trust the evaluation of this recruit. Don’t see him as a day one guy with Carter and Telander playing a ton and with three other highly ranked LBs in the class but we will need guys of his ilk to be successful.
Telander has faded down the stretch this season. 2 tackles the past 3 games combined. Even rotating the way we do- that’s just not going to cut it. Hopefully he resets.

All we have is Carter right now in regards to impact players (proven) at LB.
Need Spillman to play and prove himself.
We need Harmon and Gass here asap.

This kid is Anes is big and fast. I wonder if his mom played soccer. That would help explain some of his inherent short area quickness.

He just pops out in his film. I fully expect him to be right in the middle of the rotation. He won’t redshirt imo.

He played several snaps against Vandy. Felt like more but looking back at it, PFF says he played just nine. Maybe to get him ready to take over for Smith idk. Don't think he played bad. He definitely looked physically ready which was nice to see

That’s what King eluded to. The reason for Smith transferring.

That whole situation is weird because even though Smith lacks some explosion, he still legitimately helped that defense stand strong after Pili went down. He has almost 40 tackles. That’s Top 5 on the team.

You would think either he would still want to participate in the playoffs, or the coaches would want him to stay for the playoffs.

Strange situation.

"Anes is big and fast. I wonder if his mom played soccer," is kind of a wild jump in thought. Like, maybe HE played or plays soccer which developed those skills/muscles at a young age? My mom played the xylophone and I didn't come out of the womb a sevant with mallets for fingers.

Well we’re not all created equal now are we 😂
