'19 TN LB Kane Patterson (Clemson commit)

I'm always a little leery of kids at the 2nd tier of private schools in Nashville like CPA. If he was at MBA, Ensworth, or Brentwood Academy he's a slam dunk. But every now and then there is a Bituli running around at NCS so he could be all that, it's just the people I know in Nashville that were gaga over Bituli are kind of "meh" about this youngster.
YEP!
Look across town at FRA. Mitchel and Wilhoite They are so overrated it's ridiculous.

CPA beat Ensworth last night.

Kid could be a bust, like any other prospect, but anybody that is a take for Ohio State with as many offers as him has talent/potential.

NCS plays smaller competition than CPA FWIW.

6-1 205 ILB might be one reason, CJP has a specific height and weight for his LBs. Not saying this guy can't get there, but when your DL and OL are 6'4'+ it might be a little difficult to see the flow of the ball............jmo, I am not a coach, but it seems CJP has standards..........now, can he be a FB?.................absolutely.

Not debating whether he should be here or not. Just the size thing. 6'1 and 205 is exactly what jj Peterson was listed at last year until after the season when he started bulking up for college.

Good point, I did say, can he get there? =).........but isn't JJ already one of those "ready to play" type players? I still think 6'1" is a little small..........I like the 6'3" 230-240lbs LBs they have to be able to shed those guards coming off the line......like I said, I am no coach..........far from it........it just seems with today's athletic OL, the LB need to be bigger and stronger.

That would be yet another jewel in our class and help us close the gap between AL and GA for 2019 recruiting class.

LBs are key to the 3-4 Defense too.

I like the kid. His film is pretty good, you can put weight on his frame, and he is a smart guy. To’oto’o is probably a pipe dream and we really do need to add another LB to this class. Sounds like if we wanted him before, we woul want him now. I say take him.

We will know soon enough if this staff ramps up our pursuit. I am glad he left that cesspool in Columbus.

For those of us who didn't follow his recruitment closely, why isn't he a take?
For clarity, I'm not saying that he isn't.
Several TN kids of the 19 class have had inflated ratings. This staff has been more selective of what they want than just rankings.
Maybe they view him as a definite take but also wouldn't be shocked if we don't push that hard. The RF is filled with guys that go and watch these kids play (accounting for level of competition) and many of them aren't raving about him.
