'18 TN OL/DL Cade Mays (Transfer)

Wow, are we recruiting anyone from Eagles Landing? Will be interesting to see how well they do in GA this season. I take it they are 5A in GA?
They would be on the top end of 4 A by enrollment (1300 students) but private schools are classified as 1 A and they have separate playoffs from 1 A public schools. Tonight was their 25th straight win.

Thanks for the info. I didn't know they were a private school. 25th win in a row? That's no small feat. How is the competition in at there level? Are there other good private schools in there class, or do they just dominate their division? I haven't really keep up with GA football except for what they show of North GA football here on local news.

Right now, the private school classification is top heavy. There are a handful of schools who can compete well with them, but they don't see them until the playoffs.

East TN football vs really good high school football. See why we struggle too keep up? ELCA would destroy Maryville.

If they boatraced Catholic like that, then I would have to agree. I don't see any East Tennessee teams who could hang with them. Blackman and Oakland are good, but Maryville is competitive with them, so I do see how much better some of the teams in Georgia really are.

And ELCA couldn't stay on the field with the big boys in the larger public school classifications. The amount of talent in GA high schools is insane. A few years back, Stephenson High School had 29 seniors get football scholarships - and they didn't win a state title.

I don't know what classification, Rome and Buford are in, but both these teams are loaded with D1 prospects. Right now, UT has a commit from each team and I know UT wants at least 2 more from each in the next year +

They are both 5A, 7A is the largest classification.

Thanks, Cs. I know they played each other for the state championship last year. I know Rome just destroyed the number 1 QB (and player) in the country, team last week. Even though Rome, is just 5A, could they be the best team in Georgia?

That is the whole school. ELCA only has 373 high school students. There are bigger private schools like Marist, Blessed Trinity, Woodward, and Westminster. I think all of those are 4a.

A lot of people think Cartersville is the best team in the state and they are 4a. Grayson is the defending 7a champ. Would be a he'll of a game.

Thanks, sv. I've heard of both of these teams and seen many players on D1 teams from these teams, especially Grayson, lately. But, Rome is loaded on defense. Who do u think is the best team out of Georgia, this year ?

I think it is Cartersville despite the class difference. The way Lowndes is playing it may be them.

Ah, that makes more sense now. I didn't pay attention to private schools until Herron went to Prince Avenue. He's from my home town and was one of my football idols when I was a kid.

Thanks man. I stayed in Norcross once, working for UniSource paper company over Thanksgiving weekend. Got triple time and a half for 3 twelve hours days. So, Norcross will always have a soft spot in my heart. Both Gwinnett and Norcross would be considered metro Atlanta, right ?

I don't know how anyone can watch other football games when we're on Cade Mays Suspension Watch 2017. :scare:
