TOP IN-STATE PROSPECT TAKING MORE VISITS
Four-star edge rusher
Caleb Herring of Riverdale High School in Murfreesboro, Tenn., the state’s No. 1 prospect in the 2023 class, has been high on Tennessee throughout his recruitment, and nothing has changed as he has continued exploring some of his other options. He recently visited Georgia after getting an offer from the Bulldogs last month, and sources close to his recruitment said he’s still planning to take more visits this month.
But all signs still point to the Vols being the team to beat for him. Tennessee has continued to make Herring a top priority, and his comfort level with the Vols — along with the opportunity to join his brother, Tennessee freshman linebacker
Elijah Herring, in Knoxville — likely will make them tough to beat in the end. His exact timeline for a decision remains unclear at this point, but he intends to commit by this summer.
