Why can people not comprehend that at the time the kid committed we were a serious contender for the number 2 LB with the number 1 LB and another top 10 LB prospect committed?? And another 4 star ATH that’s projected to be a LB? And it was too little too late when s**t hit the fan?
You don’t take in state kids just to do it. You go after the very best no matter where they are from
The same things they're saying about this kid, are the same things they were saying about the west tn kid a couple of yrs ago, that signed with atm. Gnashing teeth then, and I guarantee you half of them can't even remember that kid's name now.Very religious kid picked a religious school and #2 team in the nation = Staff can’t evaluate.
Disregard when we offered, he was a no name.
Lol he’s only a top 100 player at one of our worst positions. Clearly it makes sense why we didn’t recruit him
At the time this kid committed we had in his position group
5️Terrence Lewis
4️ Aaron Willis
4️ Kaemen Marley
In the top 5 for 5️ Smael Mondon
All of which were ranked higher
This kid was a high 3️ At the time
Not our problem 247 wanted to make him a top 100 player all of a sudden.. something that would NOT have happened if he was committed here
He’s not an elite talent. Kids decent but is overrated and was pushed higher in the rankings because of a good senior season. Not even the best linebacker in Tennessee. If he’s an elite talent in our backyard, we should know before the recruiting services do. And with Lb being such a need and with us playing with 4 at a time, it seems inexcusable to say “we slow played him because we had 3 others and one maybe”.

It’s inexcusable to have not landed Mondon. Not this one though
Yes. When you make someone your top target, you have to land them. Mondon was a top target, they didn’t land him. Therefore, it’s far more of a failure than taking some random kid that, if he played HS 50 miles East in NC, no one could care aboutYou’ve got to elaborate on that last part? It’s inexcusable not to have landed Mondon? I don’t understand
