There are typically about 32 5* because there are 32 NFL teams. A 5* is supposed to represent a first round talent.Yes that is the reason. That honestly is the premise.
But let me ask you this:
What the hell does the number of NFL teams have to do with the physical talent of a HS Football player????
So automatically there are 30 5 starsā¦every year?? Every single year hahahā¦
Not 10, or 17, 23, or maybe even 6.
Oh noooo. 30 every year! Exactly
Becauseā¦thatās how many NFL teams there are hahaha.
Not coming down on you Orange. Just pointing out the futility of it all..
Lmao its a fallacy. Not every high school class is the same in quality and quantity. As for the relevance to the nfl draft, not every 1st round pick comes from the same class. The range is approx. 3 recruiting classes. So for instance, this yearās 1st rounders covered classes from 2019-2021. The recruiting āevaluatorsā are a scam. If they were worth a damn, they would be on a college or nfl campus.Yes that is the reason. That honestly is the premise.

Starting off with George, we aren't penalizing him for not going to the Elite 11 Finals, but more so operating with what we saw from him at the two camps he did attend this spring - the Elite 11 regional in Oxford and the Under Armour Camp in Nashville (where I saw him in person). We left those events with more questions than answers relative to his overall arm talent. Just would've liked to see more juice in his arm and see him spin the ball more consistently. I know he had some extenuating circumstances as a junior at BA - his OL struggled and he played a tough schedule. We still like the playmaking ability and his feel for operating in the pocket. With that said, when you look at the full balance of on-field performance and in-person evaluations, the other QB's ahead of him have done more to this point. We'll be watching him closely as a senior along with the rest of the group.
Nico was the #1 overall volleyball player, right?
You can justify not going to a football camp to play for a NC in another sport.
Not that I agree with ranking based on who attends the camps, but I at least understand the logic a little bit.
If he was hurt enough to not attend the Elite 11, is it not logical to assume that he was not at 100% for the other camps? Did he not show enough ability to "spin" the ball in his 10+ games worth of film. The camp film is the definitive visual on a QB and not the actual game film. They wanted to penalize him and drop him and so they did. They will always find an excuse to justify their actions. It is the fact that these rankings are so arbitrary that they can actually do it with some level of reasonableness.Power head of ON3 scouting
you're right it doesn't matter at the end of the day, but if they think other qb's improved there stock over him then that's there opinion. I don't disagree with it too much. I did see him play and he comes off very raw but extremely athletic. Personally he'll benefit once he get's bigger and has proper coaching. Can't wat until he's in orange. What?
Thatās a terrible reasoning to drop his ranking.
Not like it matters any way.
You struggle to operate in the realm of objectivity as it relates to Tennessee. Anything other than glowing, sunshiny reports is a load of garbage in your eyes, so I ask this question with extreme caution. What?

And there are teams that donāt have a 1st round pick sometimes. There are typically about 32 5* because there are 32 NFL teams. A 5* is supposed to represent a first round talent.
Just like not all first rounders are the same, not all 5 stars are the same.
But there are always 32 first rounders whether they deserve it or not.

But how is that a terrible reason for dropping GMac? He gave detailed reasoning based on firsthand accounts of GMac's performance at two separate events, and that added to the less than impressive junior year performance which Power attempted to excuse for several reasons. The reasoning he gave is extremely reasonable and he left open the door for him to climb back up based on his senior season in a new offense with improved weapons and coaching. Many times, prospects dropping have a lot to do with others performing better than they do with another prospe t just bombing. In this case, it may have been a case of both GMac's minor struggles in a couple events and other guys performing better.
In the end, it's one person's opinion. You don't have to agree with it...you clearly don't, but it isn't like this wasn't a reasonable line of thinking behind the drop.
Level-headed rational objective posters as you say understand that Sabanās number #1 QB that we landed again probably deserves all of the accolades he got from the beginning over whatever rational On3 and your opinion now have for his dropā¦Speaking of level-headed, rational, objective posters.......
The mental gymnastics that you, KC, and the rest of the Sunshine Band perform to feel great about everything all the time must be exhausting. It's as if anyone dare to exercise an objective/neutral position on a player or idea, you and the pumpers jump on it like a dog in heat. Literally, no one said anything negative about George MacIntyre, but you and your kind rush to fluff him up at any sign of distress to his reputation. The 17 year old kid is going to be just fine without you running to his defense at every perceived slight.Level-headed rational objective posters as you say understand that Sabanās number #1 QB that we landed again probably deserves all of the accolades he got from the beginning over whatever rational On3 and your opinion now have for his dropā¦

The truth can be in the middle of your two extremes. His five star rating wasnāt affected by the disappointing on-field fortunes of his team. The āobjective neutralā observations seem to have occurred AFTER he committed to UT over Bama and BEFORE he played any real new football. Now heās no sacred cow and the rationale expressed in dropping him doesnāt sound radical. Just the terminology depicting his arm as suspect with previous backdrops of inconsistent evaluations compared to commits of other programs lends to justified suspicion not tied to SUNSHINE PUMPING. Simply look at the two Bama QB commits in Nicoās class skyrocketing after they picked the RIGHT program. As you posted earlier, Heupel doesnāt care what these āexpertsā mutterā¦he got his QB.The mental gymnastics that you, KC, and the rest of the Sunshine Band perform to feel great about everything all the time must be exhausting.
