I think both of what you mentioned are very clean and advanced for his age.
He's a very good player.

I would have been happy with him being our QB for this class.

Unreal that we got Nico!
Not hating on the kid. Like I said he’s really talented and I’d be happy if he came to TN. But he has work to do mechanically. It’s pretty obvious to see in just his highlights. His throwing motion is overly elongated, he really drops the ball down and winds up for big throws. Throws off of his back foot. He also stares down receivers. I think that is all fixable and if it is he could be a very good QB.

He talked at a camp I covered and seemed like a really good person. Also sounded like he really wanted Marcel to play in the SEC
He became HC at TSU when I was the golf coach. Became good friends with him. Class act in all ways…..I can remember Marcel running around the gym and at practice. Happy for him!

Sheesh. I honestly am not being sarcastic when I say “You hate to see it.” NIL is changing the game.
This will take a few years but I'm curious as to how the pans out down the road from a career standpoint? The whole "Earn It " phrase has been completely flipped upside down. How does a kid that's been handed everything cash included play once he's in the NFL?Does that drive and passion stay lit when ur not the top dog?

Once u hit the NFL its a different beast and all them dudes are good/great.I mean those life lessons u once got going to college not all but some are now gone. Its like anything else it will sort itself out but NIL has changed things.

A couple of things.
- If we didn't get Nico ,this is the kid I wanted Heupel to get.
- Quickest release in the country
- 2200 yards passing 27 Tds 1000 yards rushing 15 TDs ( 42 total)
- Patient in the pocket.
- very quick feet in the pocket
- gets his shoulders squared quickly to deliver accurate passes

Had 5 TDs passing in title game vs Baylor
Only 59% completion.
Looking at team stats. He had 1 big play WR. And he went to the TE in the redzone a lot.
Other than those two MBA didn't have a lot of recieving options.

From what I see on film, this dude is going to wreck shop. Would have been another Hendon Hooker for us. We'll have to settle for the taller Bryce Young i guess lol.

This kid can run, but he definitely looks to pass first. Really good QB

I get the business side of it but I don’t like this decision for him. I feel like he’d fit a lot better at Ole Miss and now Lane could use him

You've probably seen him more this year than me, but I think either situation is good for him.

Lane would have definitely given him better coaching.
