'22 TN QB Ty Simpson (Alabama commit)

If Horn wants to be here as much as has been alleged, then perhaps he won't hold that against the new staff.
I don’t think Horn will hold anything against the new staff. I just think he’ll go someplace where he has always been their #1 choice from the beginning.

If you have a top rated QB who chooses not to accept an offer and the main reason is because of the competition for the starting spot, he's not really a top rated QB. I'm not saying that about Simpson but some on here are speculating about that.

I hope he chooses Tennessee and I hope he is as good as many on this board think he is. But, you can't tell it from his HS accomplishments. Apparently, he is on a very good 7 v 7 team and he shows up very well against top rated competition there.

Westview was a very good football program for a long time until the HC left and went to Mayfield, Ky as a DC 4 or 5 years ago. They havent' been very good since then even with one of the top rated QBs in the nation the last 3 years. That is a bit concerning but then I haven't seen him play since his Freshman year at Martin.

I will say, most of the highlight plays you see him make are where he is running for his life and throws a deep pass on the run to a WR way down field. Come to think of it, with that being the case, he should feel right at home at UT!
Half of his highlights are the wrs dropping the football.
Kid has no talent around him...

After hearing the OC and QB coaches' press conferences, it sounds like the mental part if the game is as big as the physical part. They want a guy who can read the defense and make complex decisions quickly and get the ball where it is supposed to be. That's one aspect that doesn't show up well on highlight film. I'm curious about how the three QBs compare in that manner. And I wonder if that is how they will pick their favorite option out of the QBs under consideration.

In the VolQuest Blue Water Climate Control podcast mailbag edition AP said the Vols have climbed back in the mix and it will be a “head vs heart” decision. Head says Bama or Clemson, heart is saying UT.

I wonder if it’s Bama or Clemson putting pressure on Ty to hurry up and commit. Otherwise he would just wait until he had made a decision on his own time.

Sounds like staff knows he is going elsewhere. Tevin told SI that he and Sam were the two QBs on the Heup house zoom and they were told they were the top guys
