Even if that’s the case, all he did was post the invite.

He didn’t say “I’ve decided to accept this invitation”. THAT would at least be a decision - that he decided to accept.

Wouldn't be surprising. Biggest fish in the tiniest of ponds. Been told by everyone how great he is since before he could grow fuzz on his chin. Even unintentionally, that kind of environment breeds entitlement and diva behavior, at times.

It could be totally innocent, too. Who knows. He's probably a good kid.
