'20 TN RB Tee Hodge (UT SIGNEE)

Easy... you put him on the practice field, watch him carry the ball, and you count the vision. 1 would be the worst, ie, not much vision. 10 is a lot of vision. Ideally we'd get the guys with close to 10 vision.

:p
Forvision, I think the top of the line is Eric Dickerson. Eric Dickerson's Vision on Earl Campbell's body would be the ultimate.

That guy was good. Not many probably remember him. That was the best era for running backs......imo. Big and powerful.

Your post conjures memories of Chuck Muncie, another RB from that era. I loved watching him run with the football. That guy was a beast!

The ultimate all around = Barry Sanders. Don't need to combine those two.

He was one of my favorites. Excitement with every touch. Having said that, I think one should also take a look at Jim Brown, Gayle Sayers and Walter Payton.

Not on their level, but one of my favorite RB was Mark Van Eeghen.

for a true power back the 100m isn't important. What is significant is his 10yd and 20yd split. He has to have enough burst to hit the whole, but he doesn't have to be a home run threat. Elijah Holyfield did well enough at UGA and he's smaller than Tee and is apparently about a consistent 4.8 40 yd dash guy.

The AAF was a good concept and had decent ball. It was fun to watch. I understand the shelf life for football players is not that long, but the NFL could have used it as a "farm system".
the NFL has the perfect farm system. and it's free to them. why invest in the AAF at all???

I don't know all the deets about why it abruptly folded, but I'm butthurt to the moon and back about it.

Every college player will not get an opportunity to play in the NFL. There are finite spots available. Those guys that get cut from an NFL team, give them a place where they can go play and get better or decide that football may not be for them and get started with their life. Most of these guys have lived and breathed football all their life.

that still doesn't justify why the NFL should drop some coin on the AAF. on the hope a re tread or also ran that didn't make it the first time comes around? when your average lifespan in the NFL is less than 5 years.....you're going to take older players, that have put more hits on their bodies at a lower level???

makes no sense.

all this was, and the same for the XFL, is a place for guys that either didn't make it in the NFL, or never got a real look in the NFL, a place to keep playing....i would imagine if this thing every did come to fruition the # of players that actually made a successful transition from the AAF or XFL to the NFL would be pretty small....obviously any # would be greater than what it is for college, but that's just a function of #'s.

the NFL has the perfect system as is....and i would be shocked if they ever invested a dime in to any other professional league as a developmental league.
