If we can get Shady over the finish line and pair either Hicks or Merritt (I prefer Hicks) him we’ll have signed the best S class here in a very long time. Shady himself is the best prospect from a “who wants him badly” perspective we’ll have signed since #14.

We appear to be in a tremendous position with multiple blue chip Safeties in the 2026 class. Signing those obviously won’t happen for another year, but for a position that has along with only RB (which is much less important IMO) yet to see a real uptick in elite incoming talent it would be a massive improvement.

S Craig Tutt

Tennessee went to Oakland High School to add running back Duane Morris in the 2025 cycle. Could the Vols head back to the school to pickup a defensive back in this cycle? That’s exactly what Tim Banks and Willie Martinez will try to do with three-star safety Craig Tutt. The 6-foot-0, 180-pound athlete is considered a top-400 prospect in the cycle an the 11th-best player from the state of Tennessee, according to the On3 Industry Rankings. Tutt was on hand for the Volunteer win over Alabama this fall. Auburn and Michigan also in play.

Slim build, but very fast and tackles well.
Good athlete and was the leading rusher for Oakland.
