A bright spot for Tennessee defensively this season has been the ability to get interceptions from the other teams QB.

USCjr's QB has yet to throw an INT this season.

Shaw has been lights out since returning from a recent shoulder injury. He now has 10 touchdown passes on the season, but more importantly, he has yet to throw an interception after throwing seven a year ago.

I think this will be an interesting part of the game. A large part of USCjr's success this season has been shaw's protection of the football through the air. Look for The Ole Ball Coach and Shaw to get very flustered if TN gets an early INT.

Go Vols.

True! Nothing better to cause a streak to end than the announcer mentioning the streak. Usually ends the next play!

I was sitting one of the boxes at the UTC game last night and they had the bama game on the tv. The announcer had just mentioned fumbles and next thing you know....bama fumbled. :eek:lol: There was a bama fan there raising all kinds of cane. Hilarious.

Uh, we're talking about the opposing QB throwing interceptions?

It cuts both ways.

Not sure just how bright a spot this necessarily is: half of those INTs came in just one game. South Carolina isn't Western Kentucky, and even if Western Kentucky play y'all again, I seriously doubt they give up another 5 INTs....

The key word was the sixth word of the original post. Shouldn't be hard to keep up, unless you're just trying to be a wet blanket. Oh, wait......

Not to open a pi$$ing contest, but "USCjr" should refer to an institution that hired Lame Kitten rather than one with the foresight to hire Steve Spurrier.

Spurrier has done a good job of managing Shaw this season.

However, Shaw floats it up there at times and I think we'll get some chances.

just wondering who their back-up qb is and if he can run the ball effectively.

Dylan Thompson, and if we get him in the game we might see a pick or two. He's a good passer, but takes a lot more chances than shaw. He's more likely to force the ball. As for there RB, Mike Davis is averaging 122.8 (best in the SEC)yards per game. We struggle with fast RBs, and he's fast, shifty, and can break tackles. I think stopping him will definetly be a big key to the game. (I know stop the run, shocker) I've said on here a couple times I think they have the best RB in the sec. So lets shut em down.

Edit: oh yea, Dylan's a mediocre to bad runner. I Forgot to mention that.

The easy way to get interceptions is to get pressure on Shaw and keep him contained. If we can hit him a few times, sack him a few, and knock him down a few he will get jumpy and throw balls all over the field in a hurry. The other thing that would help is to be up a few TDs and he will force more balls.

I feel like for us to win this game we will have to force a couple of turnovers and capitalize on them. We will have to score touchdowns and not settle for field goals.

They are very good offensively. Davis is a stud and Shaw is heady, runs well and takes care of the ball. We need to stop his no interception string.
