Today we get to see if TN SB is up to par against the elite programs.

FOLLOW-UP (post game comments): We saw last night that TN is on par with the best teams in the country.

They are an ELITE program! Well done!

Tennessee IS an elite program in softball!

Have you never followed them before?

An 'elite' team is able to score with the bases loaded and no outs, start a pitcher who doesn't give up four runs in the first inning, and doesn't make silly mental mistakes that end up costing the game.

And yes, I've followed the LV's from day one. And rooted for them as hard as I can. But I know less than quality play when I see it. and I've seen too much of it this year.

They are young and will get better.

The why don't you root for them instead of the negativity that you spew forth. For those that do not follow Lady Vol softball, you make it sound like they suck.

When were they in the CWS finals doctor?

From one Doc to another - feels kinda like "Spies Like Us"....

I think the offensive struggles can be related to health. If the team is healthy by the post season, I think the Lady Vols are primed for a run this year.

There is really nothing wrong w/liking girls sports too. Our ladies are doing a lot better than our men right now too...which is good and bad. Bad thing is the men's programs are poor right now, good news is we have the lady vols still. And please, Tennessee is an elite softball program. They've been to the wcws a lot, make the postseason a lot, have made it the last 6 years in a row I believe. Yeah...not elite at all.

Who knows. This is as good a year as any to make a run, and they have struggled early. I hope they get better as the season progresses. I wish they had more power, and a few less slap hitters. Can't walk fast players either, as we just saw. That chic will be on 2nd in a second.

YOU GO IVY!!!!!!! Get's Alabama out in the 1st inning. This has been her worst inning all year, so maybe this is a good sign she will continue to pitch well. Those were some very pretty low pitches she made in that inning.

So disappointing for Ivy losing the first game after pitching a great game. Just left too many people on base. One hit several times would have been a win for Ivy.

That loss wasn't on Ivy. Her teammates have gotta help her out with some offense. No shame in holding the number one team to 3 runs in 11innings. On the plus side it looks like we're gonna pull out the win in game two. LadyVols up 5-2 heading into the bottom of the 7th.

I was absolutely not putting the loss on Ivy, I said she pitched a great game. As a matter of fact, it was one of the very best games pitched by anyone this year. I was saying just one hit at one of the several opportunities we had would have given her the win she deserved.

Ellen also pitched a great game, and we finally got some timely hits to take down Bama.

I believe these two games will do wonders for our team. We outplayed Bama. We will now make a great improvement over some of the games we have played. Our girls now will have a different attitude.
