Alabama got very lucky to score their 2 runs in regulation. They only had one hard hit ball during that ralley. Other than the walk off they only had one hard hit the whole game. Nice to see Ivy back. Gutsy performance by everyone for 18 innings.

There is really nothing wrong w/liking girls sports too. Our ladies are doing a lot better than our men right now too...which is good and bad. Bad thing is the men's programs are poor right now, good news is we have the lady vols still. And please, Tennessee is an elite softball program. They've been to the wcws a lot, make the postseason a lot, have made it the last 6 years in a row I believe. Yeah...not elite at all.

Of course there's nothing wrong with it. It's absurd on its face. Dogmatic control freaks are influencing some folks to a ridiculous degree in recent years and it trickles down to many others who don't realize how silly it looks. It reminds me of the kneejerk reactions some folks have these days about everything from soccer being an awful sport (I don't care much for it myself, but I can appreciate why some do) to the ONLY way to make chili to which religion is the ONLY way to worship a deity. USA...a century older and a century dumber.

As a guy who played baseball from age five to 21, and umpired softball from 16 to present, I can say the girls have the harder/more technical sport. A really good athlete can be an average or above average player in baseball and have no skill at it. In softball, that doesn't work.

And if you've ever seen a guy try and hit off a girl pitching underhand, you know it doesn't work at all. (and it is much easier for girls to start hitting off of an overhand pitcher than boys to start hitting an underhand pitcher, obviously)
