'24 TN WR Amari Jefferson (Tennessee)

It seems AJ was extremely flattered by that move where Saban had his and AJ's dining places set side by side alone and in front of all the recruits, who were seated at tables behind them, iirc the photos. It would be hard not to be, and to stay aware that the effect was calculated. I do wonder how that felt being another recruit. The photo looked like they were assigned to sit with their backs to the rest of them.

Idk what AJ is thinking. But I am guessing that made a big impression. Plus all of Sabey's negative recruiting. It seems extremely likely that Sabey (and Kirby) are major sources of the "gimmick" lie and the "doesn't prepare for the NFL" lie. I figure they spread it through media and NFL scouting contacts, which want good relations. Unstated quid pro quo. Except in many media instances where it is simole incompetence and sycophancy. It is to their advantage to get recruits to attribute differences derived in good part from top recruiting classes wholly to development. We are making huge strides in recruiting. Our development is second to none. I think worry about us is a huge part of his motivation in the case of AJ.

Absolutely think both bama and dawgs are scared of what we are doing. If you remember, Saban praised Pruitt and is now bad talking Heupel. That ought to tell you all you need to know. It is fun to be a Vol again.

I said when Pruitt $h!t on the Baylor kid a couple years ago Tennessee would regret it. I realize that the kid he did it to ended up leaving Va Tech but so did 80%of Pruitts UTs class. The message is “you don’t $h!t” where you eat & Baylor has never been a pipeline to Tennessee. I doubt that kid has an ounce of influence on AJ but it does with faculty, etc at Baylor. It was a terrible decision Fulmer let Cornbread make.
Baylor has not had enough SEC level players to be a pipeline to anywhere. Jacques McClendon and Kevin Cooper went to UT. I would say that Jefferson and Cameron Sparks are the first guys that UT has gone all in on since Jacques and Kevin. Elijah Howard was recruited as DB by everyone, but even though Pruitt did cut him at the last minute, I don’t think there’s any bad blood. Most of the big money people at Baylor probably like UT more than any other SEC school, but they have more connections to UVA, Sewanee, and Ivy League Schools more than anything else.

Yeah and as long as we keep winning we will have a good shot at anyone from Chattanooga.

Well he just thinks Amari really fits what they want to do on offense.

Staley, Matthews and Wingo are all more dynamic athletes that fit our vertical passing game a little better to me. They look like elite athletes compared to Amari being a good athlete.

Some of us have watched and studied football a while. It's not like you aren't allowed to notice certain things.

Not to say that I wouldn't be happy with Amari. He would give us more physical type receiver while Staley and Mattews take the top off of the defense.

But Wingo's tape is insane lol

Don't think you need to be a scout to see he's a much better prospect than Amari. It's not really close.
I’ll agree if Wingo commits to us. 😂…. We are not watching film thought…. We are watching highlights which is a huge difference.

AJ not being prioritized until a little later combined with Little Nicky showing him personal attention likely had an effect on him.

Tommy Rees' offenses are offensive compared to Josh Heupel's offenses. I hope they struggle trying to adjust and their QB doesn't produce well this season.

That Bama marriage is going to struggle. They will come out the gate with an L or two. But, I bet by years end it will be same old same old.

Hope I am not wrong, but Ty Simpson doesn't scare me at all.

As much as I want this kid, if there’s one position that I will never worry about with this staff…it’s losing a WR. We’ll get our receivers, and they’ll eat.
Truer words never spoken. Just don't worry about the WR position with this staff. Their ability to get good players and/or develop Lower tier talent.

I think the coaches taking 4 WRs in this class was really contingent on it being the right 4. I think Kamron Mikell really wants to play WR in this offense and not DB. He's visiting this fall, so that's a possibility. As long as we have a really strong start to our football season, flips could also be in full effect. Recruiting is a marathon. There will be many more twists and turns before the early signing period.
Mikell just coming to watch UGA. He has also scheduled a visit to UK the weekend UGA plays.

I'd love to have this guy and maybe I'm wrong, but to me he's pretty consistently given off the impression that he was trying to go anywhere but UT.

I think he's given us a fair shot, and I know he was a baseball commit for a time, but he's very much so struck me as a "get out of the state" guy for a while now.
