Not sure there's a disconnect but what many hv to realize is you hv guys who want to win a NC so camping at FSU and tOSU is more intriguing. Who besides Bama is putting out players like tOSU? Also guys don't want to get their bodies over worked when they hv school workouts, training, and need rest for what they consider major national events like The Open and Rivals 3 Stripe Challenge.

"We're gonna have to learn how to strain aight" (Coach Jeremy Pruitt of the Tennessee Volunteers).

lol they are not even 18 yet and already worrying about overworking their bodies? Its not going to get easier in college or the pros.....

So this is a higher priority than ACTUALLY going to said school and workouting/camping to retain a scholarship?

I think this says it all...

To me, based on what read the last dozen posts, it seems pretty simple to me.

They camp at the schools they want to go to. The don't want to camp at schools they don't want to go to.

For a coach making evaluations, that math is pretty easy imo.

It takes two to make a relationship work. And if you'll camp at OSU, OU, FSU, Bama... to me there is no reason not to camp at TN.... if you seriously want to play there.

If not, no hard feelings.

So true. As a coach it’s a no brainer. I want to see you at camp, I want to see if you’re coachable, I want to see if you believe in team. Pruitt knows his 1st real class needs grinders and example setters mixed in with some studs.

He has a close relationship with NPA, thus the high ratings for their kids. It's crazy to see the discrepancy between Rivals and 247 with the Middle TN kids this year. Several Top 100's on Rivals are 3-stars on 247.

All this angst over kids that are predicated on a falsehood or at least a biased eye. Woody is pimping these kids because of NPA and he has a big platform but these kids are mostly boarderline 3 stars...if these guys were from Georgia or Florida, they would be considered Lyle jones commits. If we don’t get one of them I won’t lose one second of sleep over it, we are in on some difference makers, these are glue guys, not super stars...woody is a clown and anyone who takes his “evaluations” with anything more than a grade of slaw might be dumber than woody himself.

This is kind of where I'm at. These kids just aren't all that interested in attending Tennessee, nothing more nothing less. Now if they are willing and people are in their ear advising against it because of those reasons then there is a problem.

One thing is for sure though, I do not want Pruitt to deviate one bit from his plan. I personally love his philosophy that earning an offer from Tennessee should be an honor for an in-state kid. If that costs him a few guys his first couple of years then so be it. Best news in all this since CJP took over is we are finally getting back into North Carolina. Tennessee's best teams have always been littered with players from there.

Btw Woody doesn't make the rating solo. There's always a few Rivals and 247 guys present.

Are you surprised by such a discrepancy in some of these kids ratings on 247 & Rivals? It's crazy to see several of them being National Top 100 on one site and all 3-stars on the other.

Yes he is and Gyasi is a freakish athlete. The kid can make crqzy plays as a Wr or Db. Some of the plays I've seen him make are unreal. I could definitely see him at a P5 school but he could also elect to go right under P5 and hv success either way.

Good stuff. Sounds the VQ guys were very impressed with him at the Nashville combine and it looks like he's camping this week.

ID be interested to see Barton Simmons explanation for the 247 side to see if it helps paint the picture a bit more. He has nEver had an issue with ranking kids in mid state high as he has a soft spot for it yet he hasn't this class. That's an interesting red flag. i wonder if there is some thought in the industry that while there is good talent we probably have jumped the gun in how elite some of the talent is. Not many end up setting the world in fire outside of A select few.

Agreed. I think it's a legit question because the discrepancy is really big this year between the two sites. A few spots or even a star isn't that big of a deal but these are huge differences in these prospects ratings.

I wouldn’t be slobbering . “ Urb” as you call him bailed on a program after his boy graduated knowing the jig was up with some of his recruits . It would have been one thing to say hey I did it now moving on to something different like broadcasting but he had ummmm “ heart problems “ I believe ,then recruited to OSU while still in the booth . He a little sleezy regardless of coaching abilities . Just my opinion but he’s one step under kiffin and one above that washed up coach O at LSU . Only my opinion though so you know what that’s worth . 😉

At least Kiffin and Coach O never covered up for a serial killer that played for them

Agreed , I just have never been able to let go of the fact that coach O called and told our recruits not to go to class , what he and kiffin did ( the timing ) almost ruined our program . Don’t get me wrong all 3 are sleezy .

it happens all the time man. These rating are man made and different companies have different opinions. Ala Trey Smith #1 on ESPN and not even the #1 OT on either of the other sites. We don't worry about the ratings we worry about the success of the kids and they never again get tricked or lied to like the previous staff did with many of the kids who came to UT and got the absolute worst coaching, leadership, and guidance of any coaching staff in our knowledge of existence. We had guys being DNPs and listed as injured but it was all lies, boosters told we recruited against UT, etc and won't tolerate that from anyone. We love the new staff and have zero issues. Kids make decisions as does their families. Ppl hate NPA for no reason and its ridiculous.

I don’t hate NPA but still don’t believe Candy is DB U and NFL DB factory.

I think Conley told everyone what was up with Jones and his cronies long before the wheels fell off and I'm pretty sure it wasn't too popular. Keep sharing legit information my man.
