'19 TN WR Trey Knox

I think Morris will have that program back to around 7-5, 8-4 consistently in the next few years. I think he’s a pretty good coach.

I honestly don’t know how you could place Arkys ceiling any higher than that as a program.

Petrino broke it, albeit only for two seasons. Nutt won the West twice but it wasn't as difficult back then and did average around 7-8 wins a year.

Rivals (yes I'm cherry picking lol) has our class up to #14 now which is very good for us. This will easily be Morris' least talented team and we seem to be improving each week...nearly took A&M into OT last Saturday. Cautiously optimistic for the future.

Morris will need time. Lots of it. But if they are patient there is no reason he can't be as good as what Mullen was at Miss St., and perhaps even a little better.

honestly i don't see a lot of difference right now where we and ARK are in terms of quality of the program today.
i think the same level of patience is probably requred at this point, given how both programs have churned thru coaches, and after the departure of the last two.

the challenge Ark has that we don't is that they play in the West, and you have to deal with Auburn, bama, LSU and aTm every year. realistically, "good" programs in the West could go 8-4 every year, and it not be a sin.

at TN, you're supposed to be in the group that makes it hard for programs like MO, KY and USCe to be good, because they have to play GA, TN and FL every year.

so while i think ARK has expectations, i think they're probably more tempered than ours, as far as where we "think we should be" vs. where we are.

The issue I think a lot of Arkansas fans have, is that 10 years ago our series with Alabama was nearly tied. The one with Auburn was close as well. We lead the series with Texas A&M 41-31. We used to beat the Mississippi Schools and South Carolina almost every year.

But things have changed a lot in the last 10 years, we are currently worse and those other schools have gotten better (Alabama, SC, Ole Miss, MSU). Now no one expects to beat Alabama, but Mississippi State, A&M and Missouri have won 80% of their games against us recently and those are teams we expect to beat more than that, and there is the disconnect. Is that the new "normal" or is it just because John L. Smith/Bielema sank our program so low? I guess time will tell.

i think if Ark went 4-4 or 5-3 in the SEC most years, Ark fans would probably be happy, as that generally is about what that program has been. maybe every now and then you win the division when others are down. but if they could go 8-4 regularly, i think that's probably about right considering some of hte built in challenges ARK has. recruiting in state is one thing, but ARK really h as to go out of state, and when you do, you're just not getting Alabama's, Florida's, Auburns, Georgia's, aTm's top choices to look your way, and that's, to me, what will keep you from being an elite program.

Arkansas to me has always just been one of those "tough out" programs, kind of on the fringe of being one of the power programs. ARkansas needs to have an identity, recruit to it, and have a coach that's really good at finding and evaluating players that really fit what they do, w/out necessarily being on every other major program's radar.

Tennessee desperately needs speed at WR. The current crop can't run fast and no one is scared to get in their face. Knox doesn't have top end speed Tennessee needs. Good luck to him.

Change the names in this post and it could easily be us. Like looking in a mirror.

I still think we should give up the cross over game with Bama, and switch it out with Arkansas...
I want to keep the Bama rivalry but someone suggested an idea that I like.
Every other year. The series often goes in streaks, so both winning and losing has less drama to it. Plus, it would open up for opponents that we rarely get to play.

Based on the success Palmer is having and the type of USC WR I'm used to seeing succeed I'd say Javonta Payton is the top WR target that is probably being pursued and needs to be pursued. He is right down that alley

LoL. UT is currently the 2nd to worst if not the worst team in the SEC right now. Didn't win a SEC game last year and may not this year. And some of you are trying to convince yourself its ok to lose a player like this.

He is the one they are after the hardest and then Brown from NC who is a burner with size.

You can’t lose what you don’t want to take.

And ftr I wish we’d have taken him. But numbers are tight and they want more speed.

That's the funny part. None of us think we"lost" him. Seems you're the one that maybe convinced yourself we did?

Knox is basically every WR we already have. All of out WRs are basically possession WRs with Palmer and Calloway occasionally being a deep threat. We need some quick shifty WRs since apparently Byrd isn’t living up to what he could of been.

and seriously ask yourself? How many recruits have chose Arkansas over us when we were really wanting them? Not very many I’d guess.
