I just wanted to say that you guys have been great. Every time we are about to play some team, the other fans come on and talk crap and piss everyone off. You guys have obstained from being obnoxious or rude. You show class and I can't wait for the game. Also, i have been able to find a new found hate for U Texas..

Let me just add that besides t.u. and Texas Tech we have been compared to probably the most well known fans hospitality and that being Nebraska. Most people will say that they are the friendliest and most respectful in college football and we are up there with them. The morons from Tech and t.u. don't agree with that though because we reciprocate when others are disrespectful to us and they are always. Anyway, I guarantee you that if you see an A&M tailgate at the Cotton Bowl, if you stop and have small talk you will be pleasantly surprised at the reception you get.

When Clemson came down here this year they went back amazed at the tailgating and all the beer offered and food. It will be hard for that for this game seeing how it's so dang early but it will be there I'm sure.

Mention beer around this joint and you'll be voted VolNation Poster of the Year.

You guys have been great. Schools with tradition will always be courteous and respectful toward each other (unless your a part of the UT-BAMA mess, but that is another thread). If I am able to go, it will be my pleasure to drink your beer. And in the SEC, it is never too early to drink. It would be easier to play Texas, cause I don't like them, but not as classy.

Last time I had a run-in with some Aggies fans was in San Antonio last year, I was wearing a Longhorns hat I picked up and got crap for it. Left me with a bad taste in my mouth, but you guys are cool. Welcome! May the best team win

Well Milo, you know that the A&M-T.U. (to take the abbreviation from the Ags... nice by the way) mess is much like the UT-whalabama mess. Except it could be WORSE b/c of the in-state addition. Of course, at UT, we don't know too much about in-state rivals. Don't have any!!!

The whole A&M - t.u. rivalry thing is pretty civil at times but can get stupid sometimes. Things have really tailed off since our Bonfire fell in '99 which I'm sure some of you have heard about. Anyway t.u. did alot to help us out during that time and so it's hard to be rude SOMETIMES, overall still a big mean rivalry. The in-state thing is one aspect of it b/c in essence we are playing to be at the top of one of the best football states in the country.

The biggest thing that makes our schools the way they are, is that Austin is full of the upperclass, hippy, conceited people, as far as the students. A&M is more of the small town hardworking blue collar class and that is why we clash so often.

I just remember when Fran left for A&M, the bammers found friends in Longhorns that really enjoyed bashing ol' Fran. They took it to the extreme sometimes, so I assumed the rivalry to be pretty heated.

Yeah the Bama fans. It has been 2 years since Fran left, and while I agree the way he left was pretty crappy, I do not blame him for leaving. He came to a job that he had always wanted, not on probation etc. etc. etc. Anyway, it's been 2 years and they still talk trash about him and wish him to die, and be fired. It's sad that they are still holding onto it.

Ya ever wanna piss off the Longhorns go to hornfans.com and tell them how Mack Brown will never get them a national Championship and how he is no where near the coach Fulmer is.

You have no idea how bad they are. The extremeists would rather see Fulmer in court, than return to respectability on the field.

I understood his wife really missed Texas. Who could blame her? After all... everything is bigger in Texas!!! ^_^ :D

Leaving AL was the right thing to do. I think we talked about all that enough... We all have an understanding on that... anyways...

Do the 'horns give you a hard time about "gig 'em" ? I can't help but notice the similarity to their "hook 'em" ... Which came first?

Nice! Poor ol' Mack... can't beat Stoops, but the 'Horns know they can't fire him, it'd be the Solich situation. They'll just have to be happy with the yearly loss and get over it... that said, we dealt with it from Spurrier for years.

Gig'em came first. I am pretty sure (don't quote me on this) that SMU maybe had the first hand signal and then us or vice versa. Either way I am pretty sure that t.u.'s camel later.
