I rarely post here, but I had to get this off of my chest :) If you are a fan of this team and organization then support them. If you are unhappy with the current hirings and firings of this coaching staff that's fine, but please don't go around spreading negativity on this forum or other forums and websites. Recruits do visit these sites. Im sure they would rather play for a program that has fans who support them. Coach Jones is the coach here now whether you agree with it or not. If you dont want to support this team then go become a fan of some other team, but if you are a fan I hope you start acting like one. Im excited as I know many others are as well and I like where this program is headed. That is all! :)

I agree bro, besides I like the hiring of Butch Jones. I think he'll be a great coach.

I agree. We have no reason not to support him. He is the coach of the Vols! Negativity will do nothing good for this program except bring it lower. I want it to go up :)

Which one? The Lord of Darkness? Get off your high horse. We got a crapshoot. Some people don't enjoy gambling. We'll know what we have a year from now. Until then, get on the Fire Dave Hart bandwagon or go find some other team to root for.

One year from now?......ridiculous.

New offensive scheme, new defensive scheme, everything is different. Probably a new QB, new WR's, two OL's probably going pro.

If your only giving him a year to make you happy, you might as well go ahead and find a tall building to jump from.

A year from today we will know what kind of staff he can assemble, whether he could sway any big time prospects for the 2013 class, what caliber of commitments he can get for the 2014 class, and whether he is either a nimrod or an overachiever as a game manager. Obviously, there will still be a lot of grey area but I think that there will at least be enough information on which to make an educated guess as to how he will do here.

You are right, of course, but the negative posts will continue. The trolls and attention whores will keep on bashing CBJ,Hart,the staff and anything orange right through this first, most critical, recruiiting season. It will cost us some good recruits(which they will deny) and then they will complain about our recruiting class.In that respect this site really hurts UT football but, it is what it is. Good post tho.:good!:

Kelly went 7-5 his first season with ND. Guess they should have known he wouldnt pull them out of the gutter....oh wait ....

7-5 shouldnt cut it at a school like ND. They were idiots for keeping him after such a crappy year.

He has to win me over as well, so I do not see the problem with what he said. Listen there are many ways to earn peoples trust here. Do not say you are going to bring in the top coaching staff in the country then go get all your boys from Cinci. Then you start making the team work their rears off in the off season. He needs to knock it out of the park THIS year in recruiting (top fifteen at the least) because the big splash hire could of done that. When game time comes around we need to be competitive in every game. If we lose because they are better thats fine but if everytime we go aginst someone like that and we get boat raced like we have been doing that is not going to sit well. And you say he needs time to get his players. I thought he could coach to what the players on the rosters strengths were? Do not start making excuses. So CBJ you have talked the talk now walk the walk. GBO!

I will just say this...being the best coaches in the country doesnt necessarily mean they will be the most popular. He has what, 2 months to recruit this year? No reason at all he shouldnt be able to pull in a top 15 class. With all thats so right with UT nowadays theres nothing unrealistic about those expectations is there? :loco:. I will agree that next year he needs to pull in at worst a top 15 class.

Just what I think a coach with more recognition would have done. Not saying name makes you a better coach but it does help with recruits.
so yes I think that is what is expected . Listen it is your God given right to expect what you want, I will expect what I want. I expect results and demand improvement you stay status - quo. Again your right.

Get ready to bash him. Your expectations are too high. The problem with the fans that the OP is referring to is they expected Hart to hire Saban's equal. Jones may be able to get to that level but it isn't going to happen next season.

Our roster has less talent than the elite teams in SEC. This recruiting class will not bridge that gap. Probably not next year either, but if this coaching staff can get a few to over-achieve, then the appeal of playing here rises. It will be building a winner again.

We were spoiled during Phil's best years and with Butch Jones' enthusiasm, I like our chances to return.
